Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I just got upgraded to the warehouse even though I know my cc payment was blocked by my bank. Clueless reps don't know how to fix anything. Now wait days for an email only to reenter my cc info and probably have the bank block it again. They think DRI Samsung is a fraud site no matter how many times I tell them it isn't

Pre-Ordered my Dual-Sim Note 8

I can't seem to find where I can order the dual sim version. Can you order it in the US? How much is it and do you know if it work on Verizon? I travel a lot and it would be nice to have a second sim in it.

Nevermind. I had to connect to Samsung UK in incognito. It's over $1100.

As far as I know it's only available from Samsung directly. No carrier sells a Dual-Sim and why would they? The price is exactly the same as single-sim. Then again I'm from the UK. No idea if it's the same in the US or not.

I don't know if this is a global problem really... Maybe it does have to do with Irma. I'm in Toronto Canada, ordered on September 13th (late Wednesday night), and just got shipping confirmation that it is in transit with Purolator late last night (Friday night).

It has nothing to do with Irma
Samsung rep told me that it's FEDEX fault because they were not able to provide enough people to ship the phones on certain days

Ordered on the 13th and got an email saying shipping was delayed. Website was updated with tracking number though and shows delivery for Tuesday so not bad in my opinion.

Why keep harping on these trade ins? No one has reported they've been screwed. At least wait and see and not build of other people's speculative thoughts. If you wanna give up $425, go right ahead, but I think it'll be fine as long as people met the requirements. I sent in an iPhone 5 by the way. It has already been received and I haven't heard anything yet or been charged any extra money. Don't know what'll happen, but I'm not one to assume the worst.

Was there instruction in the box on sending back or prepaid shipping label? Saw some reports saying they can't figure out the process for trade in. Sending in an iPhone 5s as well and don't expect any issues really.

Did anyone who ordered the Unlocked version directly from Samsung after August 31st receive their phone? I ordered on 9/1, previous Note 7 owner and it is still in preorder status. Wondering if people who preordered the unlocked version have been receiving their phones at all?

I preordered the unlocked version on 9/4, still on preorder.

No instructions in the box. The instructions are on the Samsung site within the Note 7 loyalty section. It simply says wipe the phone, remove sd and sim, and make sure it's not blacklisted. You get the shipping label off Samsung.com. There will be a tab under you order describing the phone you selected for trade. The print label option should be there once you've received the Note 8.

Well this is my first post on android central Note Lovers.
Fade to past>>>>
Started my smartphone life with Apple iPhone 5. I used it for 4 years, not bad. Became interested in the Note 7 last Sept. I had a few short weeks with it before having to turn it back in. Loved it for the short time that I used it. Loved the screen, loved the options to change so many things I could never conceive of on the iPhone, loved the color that I bought, coral blue.
Bummed out when I had to return it. Replaced with an iPhone 6s which is a nice phone with remarkable battery life.
Fade to present>>>
I started hearing about the new Note 8. Waited for the Apple keynote first .... underwhelmed..... ordered a Note 8 the same evening after the keynote. I used samsung.com to take advantage of the nice $425 discount/trade-in on my old old iPhone 5 that I still have. Couldn't find a better deal on verizon wireless or some other avenue. I got an email this morning that my phone would ship later than Sep 15 by a week. OK, not going to complain about it..... just looked at my account this evening on samsung and it shows a tracking number anyhow, lol, delivery date Sep. 19...... still not complaining, lol.

Anyhow Note Lovers, I am excited to join the gang at android central. I am sure to learn a lot reading the posts of well groomed previous note owners. I will likely have a few questions myself as a newbie. I almost joined the group last year but just as I was gonna do it, well, you know. Have a good evening, all.

I also got the email on Friday about the delayed shipping (was suppose to ship on Friday, 9/15). Figured whatever, it'll get here sooner or later. And today I get emails from Sammy with tracking numbers showing the phone did ship on the 15th after all. More humorous than anything else. But looking forward to getting the phone.

OK so I have a weird situation going on. I pre-ordered the Note 8 on 8/24. Sometime in the next week, there was a pre-authorization charge on my credit card from "Digital River Services" which my card company did not recognize and blocked it. They called me and asked if it was legit and when I didn't recognize it either, they cancelled my card and sent another one.

Well, it turns out it was damn Samsung making a charge for the Note 8 under Digital River Services name. And they didn't even authorize for the amount I thought they were going to, since they didn't send it overnight thought I paid for overnight.

Anyway, they still shipped the phone out to me, I have had the phone since 9/7. They have not made another charge on my credit card. I have not received any reminders about sending in the trade-in phone either.

What should I do? Anyone else have this happen?

I would enjoy my free Note 8.

This nightmare is almost over for me. Per Fedex tracker, my phone has made it into Dallas. So I should receive it tomorrow or Tuesday. I will never deal with this type of incompetence again dealing with Samsung and their lack of communication. I really believe all along they knew this was going to happen to some of us Note 7 owners. I wish they would have been honest the first time and told us that our phones would ship on day of release instead of the load of crap they gave us about getting it first.

I don't know how everyone is getting emails about shipping. I ordered my unlocked on the 29th, and other than the original email, i've received no correspondence whatsoever. My Note 8 still shows Pre-ordered.

What was your expected ship date?

Same here. I'm still showing preorder. Only difference is at 6 pm on Friday they sent me the apology email saying it's been delayed.

Cancelled my unlocked preorder (Note 7 owner ordered 9/5 and scheduled to arrive first week of Oct according to a supervisor) after speaking to Tier II support at Verizon and being told that it is highly likely that WIFI calling and Visual Voicemail might fail to work with the unlocked version. I had asked this question of Tech Coach previously and was told that there would not be issues but after browsing the forums here I became nervous and called Verizon again this morning. So my new order tells me that the phone is in stock and is confirmed (the unlocked version was still displaying Preorder). Who knows, maybe I'll receive it sooner than I would have with the unlocked version. True, it was $30 more and resale value may be less, but I'm more comfortable that Verizon will support any network problems and I won't have to deal with Samsung.
