Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

People, myself included, are extremely sensitive to situational equity. If Johnny is getting his ball on the 5th, I deserve my ball on the 5th, too. When people feel like they are getting the short end of any situation they are extremely likely to complain.

The irony is that you'd see far fewer people stressing out over it if EVERYONE got it on the 15th, even if that means EVERYONE had to wait longer.
Places like Amazon have spoiled us. We know it's possible to order something at 9 am and get it by 9am the next day or sooner. So it just makes it hard to see a tracking number 3 days ago and still see no movement. We know it can be done way faster. That's what it's causing the impatience. Lol

Exactly!
I understand that we all will get it before the 15th, but if everyone's order is processing and mine is still at a standstill it will make me start wondering

Still no tracking. I think Samsung pulled a fast one by doing that so you couldn't cancel and order from a carrier who was shipping earlier.

Just noticed that this was updated to say that I need to send in my previous device by the 20th, which is two weeks from tomorrow. Additional evidence to suggest that tomorrow is a likely arrival date.

Yeah right, they could care less from where you buy as long as you are buying Samsung phone.

You knew well that you'll not be the first one to get the phone based on your previous experience. If it's the first time someone ordering from Samsung it's understandable. But you have ordered from them before and every time you go thru this and say you'll never order from Samsung.com. But here you are ordered and worrying again

If public release is on the 15th then I expect it on the 15. Anything sooner is a bonus. Even if phones re note processed at the same time, if I get it before the 15th then it's still ahead of public release. I'm good with that.

Couldn't agree more. We're already (mostly likely) going to get these phones earlier than expected. It's all good.

What's funny to me is that all these pre-order threads end up going absolutely nowhere, with multiple extremely repetitive comments. Once everyone gets their phone, they stop posting until the new phone comes out, then they come back to a thread like this, rinse wash and repeat. If you wanna share excitement and keep the forum clean then just reply when you get your phone or something, otherwise all prior comments are just repetitive and cluttered clones. We know, we all have Shipped and ups tracking doesn't work. I get it.

While it all may be repetitive, I find it kind of interesting to see and hear updates about other's orders because it gives me an idea about mine too. Besides all this should be expected around this time.

If I have to leave friday and I'm gone will UPS still try to deliver during mandatory evac? the euro model most reliable forecast model basically has a cat5 hitting just to my south by about 30 miles. my house will not even be standing due to surge if this is the case.

So true. I also turn to AC as a source of info regarding my pre-orders.

Yes, Sammy will take a Note5 as a trade in. Giving value of $300.00 as long as its working & no damage to device or screen.

still no updates this is nuts and the rep I spoke to told me my 2 were for sure shipped lol right

But, this is a thread specifically for those comments. We update each other on our status and see where we all are on the progression line to having the phone in our hands. That's the point of this specific community thread. This is, effectively, a waiting room. Some wait patiently, some wait anxiously, and these comments can aid in our excitement and anticipation. With that, we'll inevitably find some comments extremely helpful and informative. And, others, we'll brush aside as irrelevant. Why? There are only so many different progression points from the phone being ordered to it being delivered and we'll all fall into one of those points; many in the same one at the same time. Sometimes, it's comforting to know that others are in the same boat as you while we all wait. If those bother you, just scroll past those. Believe me, I have scrolled past many.

You request that we basically not make a big deal until there is a big deal, but then you make a big deal about some of our comments, which you say, are repetitive and are essentially, not a big deal. You're just on a different wheel attached to the same car.
