Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I haven't heard anything. But I have been on this ride for past Samsung phones, iPhones, etc.

I have seen an origin scan as late as 3 am, with delivery the next day. I imagine most of us will get the phone Thursday or Friday.

Either way, we will have it sooner than later.

Just be glad you are not doing this with the upcoming iPhone. That is a real pain....

Please! Because I can't call the depot directly and ups regular number refused to connect us etc. I'm jealous. How did you you get it set up?

There's the rub! You often need to look up the physical address and then call information for the number. If you call UPS directly you're right, they will not usually connect you. Alternatively, you could physically go there and ask them for their direct number, although I don't think they are supposed to give it out, either.

If you can get your local depot on the phone (or go in person) I can say with a meaningful degree of confidence that they will blanket hold all shipments to an address.

Same boat as you. They called me back yesterday. Placed order on the 26th for the unlocked version. Original email said shipping date of 9/11. The chick at Samsung order fulfillment dept said unlocked models now have a ship date between today and Sept 25th. She went on with the scripted, "So sorry for any inconvenience."

Not happy.

I hope its not on backorder. I also ordered mine on the 26th and the status is still saying preorder. I'm going to be in another state if it ships out past the 15th. Ugh, I might have to cancel my order and just go buy it in store on the 15th.

I would've thought that buying straight from Samsung would get you your device the quickest. And buying unlocked would get you software updates first. Unfortunately historically neither of these is true.

Yes. Still has an option to cancel, but not doing it. I've waited this long, guess a few days won't hurt. I ordered on September 1.

I was in the same boat. Then I checked as others have. Noone got charged the $14 express shipping fee.
And it is coming overnight anyways.

ok i just talked to samsung direct cause my order on the 24th has been stuck at pre order and she told me for some reason my order says its shipping on the 11th but note 7 customers are getting theres first so since im not a note 7 customer i'm waiting fulfilment for the 11th but could be packed and shipped sooner but monday forsure i was getting pissed everyone i know has tracking from samsung on the 24th and 25th but me but its worked out i guess ill wait another week at least its going to come soon! im driving myself nuts lol i need a distraction lol hope everyone loves there new phone im happy for all who got theres or is getting them soon!!

I ordered mines on the 26th and I'm a note 7 former owner, but my order still show as "pre-order w/ option of cancel" at this moment. So I emailed them and wait to hear from them.

Yeah I just checked T Mobile’s site last night and is showing a ship date of 9/5. I’m tempted to grab one through them and not go through the hassle of dealing with a trade in.

I would've went through that route as well, but the trade in value for iPhone 6S plus is lower than $425 from samsung, so I just jump on the Note 7 former owner discount.

Check the amount that you've been charged. Mine still shows $550 on Samsung's site, but when I check my bank account, it's $536. I'm still not thrilled. It would have been awesome to get it today since I paid for overnight, but as long as they're not charging me, I'm only slightly annoyed instead of angry. I know it's different for you since you've got the hurricane stuff to deal with so the delay definitely makes more of an impact.

It's in Louisville so I shoudl get it tomorrow morning as long as no flight delays and UPS delivers tomorrow still.

It arrives in Ft. Myers and I live 30 miles north of the hub and airport. Traffic in I75 will be clogged so I might not get the phone tomorrow if the trucks can't get to the local hub in time.

It's likely because you ordered on 8/30. From what I can tell, most of the shipments that are in transit are to those who placed an order on or just after 8/24. Mine is in transit and I placed it on 8/24. It'll just be a little longer!

To Update on UPS,

Had to drop off a shipment today and asked them to hold my Note8
Gave them the tracking number and he typed it into computer confirmed my name and said it would be there tomorrow.

Website does not show like it normally does for a hold so I guess we will see tomorrow.

That's what we thought last year when we pre-ordered the note 7 through them. This is really a surprise this year that we are even looking at getting some early.
