Your answer was scripted. I'm not trying to be mean, but what is the logic of shipping a select few phones, and then making 95% of pre-order customers wait? It's simply business strategy. If you call they are not allowed to tell you that you will get your phone on a certain date prior to the release date, unless you already have tracking. Because the logistics of the delivery is handled by another company, and the commitment to the customer is the 14th. Samsung is not going to make a promise that they are then going to be obligated to keep, or face and unhappy customer.
As you said in your own statement, the previous day you got false information. The representatives know little to nothing about the shipping dates. I've seen the same thing happen with the last year launch of the note, the iPhone launch every year, the S8, the S7, the HTC phones. Every year people on forums like these call UPS, and they call the customer service reps to companies, and expect to get a true answer. Maybe they rarely do.
But the logistics of this, is that whoever is handling the shipment has a list of phones in a certain order, and these phones are being unracked and labeled for pick up by UPS. The phone is then picked up by ups and delivered.
I could be wrong, and not a single new phone will ship before the end of next week, but if I had money I would bet we will continue to see movement throughout this week and next week. The sooner you ordered your phone, the sooner you will get it, most likely.
In the past I have been that person who is called, and 95% of the time I got the incorrect answer. Last year I pre-ordered the Note 7 through T-Mobile, and my phone and my wife's Note 7 both received tracking numbers two weeks prior. I called customer service for both T-Mobile and ups, and they both said that I would get the phone the next day. Several Forum members at XDA got the same response. The phones didn't move for another seven days. Customer reps rarely have a clue.
