Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Mine left indy about 2 hours ago just updated most likely heading to my local hub cant wait. Friend of mine ordered through bb and this morning got tracking info, his is at the hub already waiting for delivery tomorrow. Its a race who gets it first, same town btw

LOL!! ?????? Happy Note 8 Eve!! LOVE IT!
It'll be a LONG day tomorrow for a lot of us hoping that whoever is supposed to watch for the ups man for us, actually pays attention or gets there in time to avoid the "sorry we missed you, will try again tomorrow" post it note.
It'll certainly feel like Christmas eve when I lay down tonight!
Happy waiting??????

I called Samsung at a different number than than the 800 number and here is what I was told the, now, official release date.

If you already have your tracking number, you'll be receiving your phone tomorrow. If you do not yet have a tracking number, you will be getting your phone September 14th. I mentioned that being part of the Note 7 promo consisted of getting your phone early to which she replied sorry for the inconvenience you'll be getting your phone on the 14th.

I then asked, do be clear, that the Note 7 promo that included early shipping was no longer valid. She gave me the scripted reply of sorry for the inconvenience you'll be getting your phone on the 14th.

So those of you who have tracking numbers, yay! For those of us that don't, boo.
Boo! What the point of priority shipping if we (former note 7 owners) gets our phone with everyone else... mind as well leave that description out since it's not true.

I read the CNET article and went back and read the Samsung Terms and Conditions. I immediately thought I had no idea where CNET got their information because those aren't the terms and conditions I agreed to when I ordered. The article was posted after I preordered. If Samsung doesn't give me $425 for my iPhone 5 as promised, that's fine. They will get the Note 8 back and I will be done with them. I suspect many on here will do the same. Total bait and switch and probably illegal.

My friend clerk, do you know by the time you would know the results of the trade-in, the 15 days window of returning the note 8 would pass, and therefore, you would be stuck with the phone.

Same boat here I ordered on the 27th my cc was charged that day ...than 4 days later the was money returned to my account ... went to Samsung’s website order still saids Pre order status I received my confirmation email 2 hours after I placed the order and at this moment still saids Pre order with the option to cancel

I ordered mines on 26th and still my status hasn't change either. The option to cancel might end up being handy for me...

The real truth will be if trade ins pay $425

Not at all, only few people would get the full 424$ discount. Few of them would lie in between 25 to 425. and most of them at 25$. Samsung made huge loss by the N7 debacle, how do you think are they going to compensate it? I am looking for a rant thread soon.

That's fine, dispute the charge with credit card. Either way Samsung isn't getting away if they try to screw us. At least I'm not letting them get away if they charge me.

I'm in the same boat and talked to Samsung...they told me all Note 7 customers should have their phones shipped by tomorrow...hopefully she wasn't just trying to make me happy

hahaha and you being such an innocent and nice guy, you believed it. I bet "Smiley frowned" won't get his order shipped by tomorrow. I know, you also believe about the 425$ trade-in. Welcome to the reality, bro!!! Neither of them are going to happen.

Please read the terms and conditions carefully. They say, any of such purchase and trade-in is to be dealt between just you and Samsung. Therefore, your credit card company won't be much of your help. You need to do your homework, than ranting like a child. (With all due respect)

Then I'll deal with with Samsung directly when it happens along with many others who are in similar situation. Glad that you did your homework and trying to insult others here like we are a bunch of fools. We have discussed this earlier in the thread as well and we know the risk in advance. In fact Samsung tried to pull similar stunt during one of the S8 trade in and they eventually honored the trade in (personal experience).

I'll be holding my breath for a month. I hate having to worry about stuff like that. The trade in deal is the only reason I bought one and if I have to pay that money back plus lose my trade in I'll always hate Samsung and the phone. I could return it but that won't get my trade in back.

Times like this make me even more thankful for my job schedule. I work rotating shifts and delivery day was already my day off. Won't have to make any special arrangements to get my Note 8 signed for. Glad to be getting it a week early.

Well my phone is sitting in Louisville still! Does anyone know or can find out the time the plane leaves from Louisville to RSW (Ft. Myers, FL)?

Sources? Reasons for your claims? Sounds like you are trolling.

You can give some spill about reality, r whatever....but actual sources and basis in reality matter.

I base mine on the 30+ phones I have preorders over the years, from various sources, and how it played out.

Not to bait the a troll, but the note 7 $425 got national attention here in the US. It made the news, and not too long ago the note 7 made the news in way Samsung didn't want.

Right now, Samsung is looking good to the industry and it's customers. How does one of the most profitable companies in the world stay that way, while competing with Apple, Google, etc? Not by screwing over their customers, specially the ones who were subjected to the biggest disaster in recent modern phone history.

Again...have sources, or keep trolling. I don't care. I just don't understand why people enjoy disrupting threads, like this.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I tried the Note 7 trade owner program directly from Samsung. Despite getting both Notes last year during both recalls, Samsung says I'm not eligible for a trade in on the current Note because I have the S8+! I find that strange. I know the S8 isn't listed as an eligible device on there website, but I wrongly assumed that if I called Samsung direct, they would let me trade it in. Wrong! I have a mint condition unlocked version, so I'm not feeling Like I'm missing out too much. Just found that strange. I'll wait a couple months until we start seeing a price drop.

Patiently waiting, and have no problem with receiving mine on the 14th, however it kinda sucks when two of my friends pre-ordered as of Tuesday (two days ago), and have already received tracking info. I pre-ordered mine on the 24th and haven't had a single status change. My friends that pre-ordered did so through their carriers. If I have to wait longer because I ordered the unlocked version, then that's fine. Definitely first world problems for sure.
