Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I am a former Note 7 owner who ordered the Note 8 (Sprint) on the 24th. My status just changed to confirmed on Samsung.com. How long did it take someone who received the confirmation status to provide any tracking and or other updates?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I tried the Note 7 trade owner program directly from Samsung. Despite getting both Notes last year during both recalls, Samsung says I'm not eligible for a trade in on the current Note because I have the S8+! I find that strange. I know the S8 isn't listed as an eligible device on there website, but I wrongly assumed that if I called Samsung direct, they would let me trade it in. Wrong! I have a mint condition unlocked version, so I'm not feeling Like I'm missing out too much. Just found that strange. I'll wait a couple months until we start seeing a price drop.
You should be able to trade in one of the other eligible phones on the list to get in on the deal. Besides you can get a lot more than $425 on the sale of a S8+ on the open market! It makes sense that the S8/S8+ is not included because it wasn't even available for purchase during the recall fiasco.

Well my package still sitting in KY and must have not made the flight out. Supposed to get it today it says which won't happen now despite paying extra for overnight it got shipped 2 day air. I might have to leave FRI.

Never ordering from Samsung.com again. F this.

If your package misses the deadline to be sorted to a truck, it won't be delivered today.

If you place a will call hold/pickup on it, you might be able to get it today or this evening. Depends on if they sort the packages off the later planes during the day, or wait for the late shift.

That isn't Samsung's fault. That is UPS and their logistics.

Samsung guaranteed you your phone by the 14th. If you get it ealier, they met their obligation.

You can call and get the expedited shipping refunded, but that is about it.

Samsung offers the o/n shipping, most likely, for normal items. They shouldn't offer it for pre-orders, since the date is the same for everyone who get the order in while supplies last (example, iPhone).

But lots of companies do this. If you don't complain, extra money for them.

Ups is most likely under strain from the recent and upcoming natural disasters. I know it doesn't help, but a phone isn't a high priority. I'm excited for the note as well, but there is a bigger picture.

They being said, be safe bud. Get out of there before it hit.

How long is the turn around from confirmed to shipped? I ordered the morning of the 24th and just saw this morning its confirmed and card is charged.

Per others that ordered overnight Samsung has been automatically taking $14 extra charge back off your bill.

Note 7 user here.

UPS shows that mine is on the truck and out for delivery.

Kinda peeved that UPS (online nor on the phone) is not allowing me to authorize it to be left on the front door. Samsung apparently locked it down so it HAS to be signature....at least that's my experience right now.

So I called in sick today. The only useful information UPS gave me is the delivery window is 4pm to 7pm tonight.

Nice.

So Samsung is being honest.

As I stated in a previous post, this Note 8 roll out, along with the Note 7 owner promotion, is all about earning back the public trust, and putting the final touches on their year long repair of their PR image.

They are not going to screw over companies. They are going to honor the $425 trade. They are going to get the phone to us as fast as possible.

I could be wrong, but if it is what a smart business would do. Samsung is a one of the top companies in the world, so I imagine they are on top of it.

Looked flight up. Looks like it was delayed and landed late. If my phone was on there I wonder if it will be too late for delivery now. I might have to leave tomorrow because of Irma. FML. If the plane is an hour late will they still get it to a truck at the local hub and deliver it or have to wait?

I'm with you Blues Fan, up in PC. I want my N8 as a practical matter. Water proof and all.

I canceled my full price pre-order from early in the morning on the 25th, and reordered on the 3rd to get the N7 discount. Both my N8 are sitting in Preorder status with cancel available.

Ho hum.. first world problems..

Be safe bud.
