You've already picked it up? Could you explain again how you got them to hold it for you? It's not an issue for me today cuz I work for home today but it would be nice to know for the future.

I ordered At&t note 8 via Samsung.com on 8/27 at around 11am est. As of this morning, I have now been charged for the phone but it still says preorder on order page. I guess its a start.

I have indeed, right at 9am when the customer center opened. I explained earlier in the thread, but basically you have to call the local depot DIRECTLY (not through a 1800 number) and request a blanket hold for ALL packages going to a given address. If you call the 1800 number they will tell you it can't be done and will refuse to connect you with the local depot, but it's very possible at the local level if you can get in touch with them.

Welp, I’m still at preordered. No change for me. At this point I’ll be surprised if I get it on the 11th which is what my original shipping date was supposed to be.

Follow up: Phone arrived with 61% battery. After installing 87 apps and going through all of the setup (lockscreen, email, etc) plus restoring my various app settings (Tasker, for instance) and then updating Bixby and whatnot, the phone has 56% battery remaining. All of wifi, I have not yet put a SIM card in. I have a meeting at 10am, so I don't want to do that until I know I have a bit of spare time just in case it doesn't go smoothly.

That's not my case. I ordered on the morning of the 24th, and my order just changed to confirmed today. Still hasn't shipped.

It would be nice to get an idea from someone as to how long it takes to go from confirmed to shipped, but I guess nobody cares about this thread after their phone has shipped.

Yup. I noticed that. My charge was down from $1023 to a mere $1009!

Looked flight up. Looks like it was delayed and landed late. If my phone was on there I wonder if it will be too late for delivery now. I might have to leave tomorrow because of Irma. FML. If the plane is an hour late will they still get it to a truck at the local hub and deliver it or have to wait?
