Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I made sure I sent out my trade-in phone yesterday once the Note 8 had arrived it should be delivered to Samsung on Tuesday fingers crossed that being one of the first people to trade-in their phone that all goes smoothly.

Only other place would be my aunt or cousin in Tampa area which will get cat 2 winds as well and probably awhile before delivery. Naples, my cousins won't deal with the delivery and it is supposed to be worse down there as they might get hit head on there too. Unless I want it shipped to St. Louis LOL.

Is it possible the package is lost in limbo or sent back to Samsung.

Really ticked at Samsung for sending them out later than the carrier. Last time I deal with them. I can see this trade in program being a SNAFU once again.

Literally almost 2/3rds of the state might get hurricane force gusts from this.
Are you ups premium? I posted a link to get 4 months for 4 dollars.

Is the tracking still active? You can have it rerouted, or placed on hold. If deliveries are halted due to the storm, then your package will just be held until it clears up.

If your tired of waiting, then just order from your carrier to wherever you are waiting the storm out, or go get it on release day. Then return the Samsung phone, or refuse the package.

You won't get the trade in, but that may not matter to you.

Samsung is going through digital rivers , I believe, for shipping. Samsung doesn't have the shipping infrastructure that the carriers have. So the carrier is can get everything else faster, while Samsung is dependent on a third party company. So most likely it's digital rivers fault. Alternatively, it's Samsung got a lot more orders at than the carriers, that also explains while we are waiting longer for the phone. There are only so many phones that can be shipped a day. When Apple orders ****s the iPhone, it comes over in stages and then gets stocked at the local hubs. People get their tracking weeks before, but they are not delivered until release day all at once.

Looks like Samsung it's just allowing them to deliver them as they are scanned rather than waiting until release day.

Seems like it would have been smarter to wait until release day, then everyone in here wouldn't be so mad.

Mine still shows "Preorder" status and says I can cancel it. Samsung support said it is "Pending Fulfillment" which they said means they have packaged it but not shipped it. Not sure that's the truth but I'll check back later.

According to me, for the majority of orders where shipped in the following pattern,

24/8 & Earlier Bookings > Processed on 4/9 >> Shipped 6/9
25/8 Bookings > Processed on 5/9*>> Shipped 7/9
26/8 Bookings > Processed on 6/9 >> Shipped 7/9
27/8 & 28/8 Bookings > Processed on 7/9 >> Expected to Ship 8/9
29/8 & 30/8 Bookings > Processing on 8/9 >> Expected to Ship 9/9

No Guarantees though !

Understood- holding true so far. Ordered 8/28- processed as mentioned above. Hopefully I see a tracking number today. Thinking I’m getting it on Tuesday. Being optimistic.

So by this logic the orders from 9/1 should be shipped on 9/11?

I received my T-mobile pre-order for the Note 8 yesterday. I ordered on August 24th as a previous Note 7 user. To say that I have been excited for this phone would be an understatement. However yesterday when I received the phone I realized that the screen has a harsh yellow tint over it. I immediately realized because I am switching from a Galaxy 8 plus to the Note 8 and after the smart switch I had the same background on both phones.

I was completely shocked and decided to master reset the phone just in case the error was in something I switched over, however nothing worked.

I work for T-Mobile, so I was able to do side by side comparisons with our demo phone and the one I was sent in looks completely terrible!

I called Samsung SEVEN times before I got a representative that seemed to understand what I was speaking about, and even then the solutions I was given are completely ridiculous.

Samsung now wants me to RETURN the device because SAMSUNG DOES NOT OFFER EXCHANGES, and reorder the phone full price on my credit card, and wait for them to give me a "credit" of 425. I received the 425 off for being a Note 7 owner as previously stated. I was also told that the original refund can take anywhere from two weeks to a month because of the launch of the phone.

I am extremely disappointed and put off by Samsung. I don't even think this phone is even worth that much hassle.

Yes he did- He spent 6 hours yesterday on the phone with samsung and no one could really tell him what happened- "they said" that in there system somehow it cancelled his order then they cancelled the cancelled order and then it ended up on backorder......Messed up if you ask me. It is still showing backorder as of this morning.

pre ordered on 8/24 just turned to confirmed today. bought unlocked version with trade in.

I didn't see the note 7 offer, not sure if anyone did the same thing and was able to take advantage of the extra $125 off? I have a note 5 to trade in

my order switched from pre order to confirmed last night, still no confirmation email. ordered on 8/28 Verizon version

That's why I cancelled and switched my order to Best buy and there complaining on that thread , at least a exchange or refund would be a shorter process

You got two months Samsung Premium. Just call them up and file claim the event. It may not be the most honest thing, but just claim that the phone camera is defective, or it won't power on for hours at a time. Something that could be a hardware defect.

Did you send the phone with charger? Or just the phone?

Damn sucks...you may have been one of the unlucky ones to get a defective phone. The warranty should fix/replace it free though I think

How long does it take for the pending charge to change and I get some movement? I'm getting impatient LMAO
