Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

How do you know when your expected shipping date will be? On the samsung.com order page, it only says "Order is delivered 2 business days from Shipped date".

When you get the confirmation email it will give you a date.

Well just like that within the same hour, my order from 8/27 changed from Pre-Order to Confirmed (well, the guy from Samsung said it was confirmed the day before, so there seems to be a lag) and then I received an email that it was shipped via FedEX 2 day delivery today, so I won't get it until the 11th (Monday) - which is the date that they said on my confirmation when I originally placed the order.

I am a former Note 7 owner. I did not get 1 day shipping like some others have suggested that we all were getting otherwise I'd be getting it tomorrow. I opted for the 2 day shipping so no upgrade. For me it's coming from "BRIGHTPOINT NORTH AMERICA" like my other past shipments from Samsung (I guess it's dependent on where you live) and it is in Indianapolis right now.

I got the ATT one. Folks that got the ATT one, did it come in the Samsung box, or a stupid ATT box? lol

Wow, my order was on the 26th, just change today, but haven't got the email tracking yet. Mines is tmobile version and it say the sd card is still preorder, so I guess that's what holding the package back.

I'm happy for everyone who is receiving their orders today! A little annoyed at Samsung though. I placed my order on the morning of the 26th for a t-mobile orchid grey using Note 7 trade-in. I opted for the sd card and wireless charger. Mine is still on Pre-order with option to cancel. No shipping date listed. I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail. When I contacted them via chat today they said it's confirmed and shipping on the 11th and it will arrive 2-3 business days from then.(it was definitely scripted) So the 13-14th. I just don't understand why some people who ordered after some of us and not with the note 7 trade in are confirmed and have devices already shipping. Doesn't make sense. Oh well. I guess the wait continues.

Question. UPS won't drop because Samsung requires someone over 21 to be home - Do you know if i sign the back of the UPS sticker they left they will drop it. Because of early shipment and work commitments I can't be home. UPS says that can't change the address. So, is the signature on the back of the ticket enough?

Still no movement tonight. I'm under a hurricane watch now so I doubt it leaves Louisville again! Someone screwed up by not getting my phone on the plane on time last night. It was sitting there almost two days. Now with the forecast shifting even more west, who knows when I'll get it.

Man, I'm glad to tell you. It comes in the standard, nice Samsung packaging. I wonder if that's because it came from Samsung or has AT&T finally stopped forcing their ugly Note packaging on us? That really used to tick me off.

I know UPS still doing flights to south FL. The flight arrived one hour late yesterday so probably wouldn't made the truck anyway but I could have at least got to the hub if it was on that plane.

It was BS how Samsung waited an extra couple days to ship while carriers were already.

Don't think it was actually Samsung. The place Ingram Micro that was on the UPS tracking, seems to be some kind of 3rd party shipping company. I think they were probably in charge of coordinating the shipping. And, you're really only talking about like 1 or 2 days between when us Samsung guys got ours versus the Verizon people getting theirs. That could have been caused by anything. At the end of the day, unless one is affected by Irma, it seems pretty much all the former Note 7 folks who ordered early, have gotten their phones this week. Which is a whole week earlier than release day. Plus if you chose the sd card, they sent 256gb instead of the 128 they were advertising. I know you came out on the short end of the stick, but I think you're being a little irrational. The only real reason you don't have your phone is probably Irma.

Ups sure knows how to drag out the drama. Original said delivery between 12:45-4:45 today. Then while i was out this morning, I received an update that it will arrive between 11:45-3:45 which got me thinking it would be early. Any other day, i show up at home at 12noon and there's 3 UPS boxes waiting for me. Today here a sit at 1:25 without a UPS truck in site so far.

This reminds me of how appointements with cable repair men go. They demand you're there all day, but you're lucky if they show up at all that day. At least for my part of the country!

I hope it was a bone they tossed us, because we can't order the phone in the US with >64gb, while in asia you can get them at 256gb for an "emperor version"...?

And I just got shipped info in my FedEx app (nothing from Samsung) 2 day delivery (I paid for overnight and my order still shows overnight) looks like it will be here Monday.

Anyone ever had success in calling FedEx and having them upgrade a delivery to overnight?

When you get it, if it wasn't delivered overnight, check the actual amount billed vs what your original billing amount. Some people are finding they weren't charged the extra amount for overnight.

Really?! that sorta lazy service chafes me. I understand that their managers are sticklers for time, but they're being paid to have people sign for it. There are people who lurk around neighborhoods to snatch electronics off porches around delivery dates.
