Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Yeah, nothing lined up for you. Irma was just the final nail in the coffin.

I'll give it another week and see if Samsung can recall it from UPS and keep it and hop on over to Best Buy or Tmobile. I know I won't get as much on trade in for the s7 edge, but I'm sure Samsung would find a way to screw us on these trade in anyway and give me $25.

Downside is who knows how long before Samsung refunds the charge card. Samsung is a joke to deal with. This distributor they use now is also based in Indy which makes me wonder if Digital River simply changed their name. Some businesses who are crappy change their name in hopes it makes people forget them. Digital River and or this new company seem to be a joke too.

Isn't really just because of Irma. First, Samsung waited an extra day to release them when Tmobile shipped them a day earlier. Also, UPS had flights here, but the day it was supposed to ship UPS said the phone didn't make it to the plane in time despite sitting there for two days at Louisville, a mess up on UPS part. If UPS didn't mess up, or Samsung released it when Tmobile did, I would have got my phone before the storm.

What date did Samsung say the phone was going to be delivered to you (weren't the earliest pre order SUPPOSED to ship around 9/11)? Comparing release dates to Tmobile is irrelevant. Where was UPS obligated to ship early?

My phone was supposed to be on UPS flight. It sat at the louisville Hub for 2 days but somehow missed going on that flight.

Were at? I'm in FWB and received one today via FedEx but mine came down from Indianapolis through Memphis.
I'm in PC. No idea why they went to ATL. No change in status yet. Hartsfield is open.

Playing the waiting game.

You obviously have had some bad luck on this pre-order which totally sucks. I would be pretty unhappy as well..

How did you know it was supposed to be on that flight? Did someone at UPS tell you that? I didn't realize that they gave out that level of detail on their shipments....

Flightaware. I watched the daily flights. What irks me is a day after my phone missed that flight, they had another flight the next day to RSW. They do daily flights. No excuse why after missing that flight it couldn't go the next day. Everyone else had their phones while mine never left.

Then to top it off it still has 2nd day air listed. We paid extra for overnight. I know they refunded most of us, but stil why didn't they ship overnight for us who paid for it? Total screw up this pre-order was.

Flightaware is pretty cool for tracking flights in real time and speed altitude ect

Did any who received the Note 8 direct from Samsung and/or got tracking direct from Samsung - pay for the extra overnight shipping? Wondering if everyone that ordered with overnight shipping had theirs shipped out, and the rest of us that ordered via the free shipping are still waiting for tracking

But how did you know that your phone was supposed on the next flight? I am not going to pretend I know how UPS queues their packages but how do you know what instructions Samsung gave to UPS? How many pallets of phones were there and how many of those were ahead of yours? There are a bunch of reasons why things happened the way they did. Unless you know someone that ordered the same phone (carrier/unlocked, etc) at the same time you did and they got their phone and you didn't, it would be hard to make an accurate comparison.

The only thing legitimate complaint we could have is if the phones are not on time. It does suck that alot of people have gotten their phones already but that is added bonus for them...

I just printed return label and dropped old phone at fedexx.
Waiting for my Note 8 tomorrow.

On the other note do you all see credit card charges? I don't see any new credit charge and pending credit card charge dropped . so I am confused given I will be getting note 8 tomorrow delivered , but no credit charge yet.

I might just wait for a best buy deal on unlocked then since I know wifi calling will work with Tmobile. I can wait another month.

I sort have lost the drive for the Note 8 with all this shipping BS and the hurricane. Hell some people are getting October shipping dates for unlocked Note 8s from Samsung.com. What a farce lol.

I'm with T-Mobile using an unlocked Note 8 and the Wi-Fi calling works for me.

It's hilarious to me that people here blame Samsung, for the actual movement of the phone, once it has entered UPS's hands. They are separate companies. This isn't even considering the idea that we are not even at the release date, and that there is a major hurricane, and some of these people are complaining about not getting their phone in the middle of hurricane. Yet somehow this is Samsung's fault.

Some people just need to complain, I guess.

So my FedEx status hasn't change yet, I'm thinking it's going be flying out to the west coast from Memphis tonight, with sorting and delivery tomorrow... FedEx totally waits for the last min for everything...

So my status just updated, it seems like it never went to Memphis in the first place, since today it shows as departed from Oakland (instead of MEMPHIS) to a local hub near my place. Hmm... so it was sitting at the FedEx facility out here since Saturday. lol could've delivery it today. Haha

Good to know that wifi calling with Tmobile works on the unlocked model. Might look into getting it from Best Buy, Amazon or B&H and Samsung.com can go pound some sand. Knowing my luck I'd get screwed on the trade in deal anyway.

Not true. I didn't pay for overnight shipping and it was labaled as 'expedite' shipping on samsung.com. Plus it is scheduled for delivery on the 12th (already got tracking numbers).

Yup^ I didn't pay for extra shipping, got the free one and my phone is being delivered later today. It's funny though because my note 8 which I ordered on August 24th with no promo, was on backorder early September and then on September 8th, it shipped out. Got lucky I assume.
