Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

It's still sitting just outside Miami as I type this with no delivery date yet! Watch it sit there for a few days just 120 miles away.
 
Previous Note 7 owner, ordered Verizon version on 9/4. As of today, Samsung's order page still shows in "Preorder Status." I spoke with a rep on Monday and she assured me that I would receive the phone on 9/14. I"m on eternal hold right now waiting to speak to another rep to find out what the story is today....
 
Why do you guys keep calling the Samsung hotline, if it's already pretty clear they don't have any solid info on Note 8 shipping? They probably don't even have access to look at the orders.

Yes the bots do, they actually see a more detailed progress of our orders than we do
 
Don't see why it wouldn't. Their rules were pretty simple. Be a former Note 7 owners and send a wiped good condition phone on their list. I followed those requirements.
It was simple for the s8 phones also, that didn't go very good. I hope it goes better this time.
 
Fedex delivered my Note 8 this morning and I got it all setup and it is flawless. Been awhile since I've used a samsung device and they have made some leaps and strides since then.
 
I gave up after an hour. Had to take my dog for a walk.
What did they tell you after waiting for an hour and 10?

I know technically the phones aren't late yet. But I have like the faith that they will ship when we were originally told. My first time having to deal with Samsung Customer Service and I have to say it's about as bad as I've seen anywhere.

Nothing useful, rather I had a fight. More details above in #1936 .
 
I waited on the phone for 90 minutes this evening before the call was answered. I pretty much got the same scripted responses as all of you. However, when I pushed for more information, I was told that the phones for previous N7 owners are going out in 2 batches, the first having already been shipped and the next to go out on the 14th. So it is highly unlikely that if you have not yet received a tracking number you will see the phone before next week.

I was told that regardless of the website showing preorder status, that my order has been confirmed for some time. The reason that some of you have seen pending charges on your CC that have subsequently dropped off, is that the system tests your CC to make sure the charge will eventually go through when the phone is shipped.

Lastly, she said that Samsung will be giving the promised discount for all Note 7 promotion trade-ins, regardless of the condition, and that there should be no concern about them keeping the phone and only giving us $25 in return.

So, I'm not going to check my order status and look for a tracking email every 10 minutes. I have plenty to keep me busy this weekend without having a phone to customize. I'm disappointed but in the big scheme of things, I'm fortunate that I'm able to afford what looks like an awesome phone.
 
It's about time. I was with Sprint for the N3 and N4 so I was used to the normal Samsung packaging. Imagine the horror of seeing the box for the N5, which is when I switched to Att. And I was even more horrified when I ended up with 2 ugly boxes for the N7. Strangely enough, the S series, less expensive, had normal Samsung boxes. Go figure.

I know! I never understood why they decided to change the boxes. I mean, you can put your AT&T logo on the manufacturer's box like you've clearly done on the S line...took them a while to realize they could have done the same for the Note lol
 
If I don't get it by the weekend, can Samsung customer service do anything like send me another out and then if I ever get the original shipment send it back to them?

This whole pre order has been filled with incompetence. If they would have correctly shipped it out overnight like I PAID for this wouldn't have happened most likely.

Might as well just wait it out, if they send you another out, you'd still be waiting and by then, you'll get your phone.
