Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Also, what if you don't send them the phone in for the trade in? Do they just charge your credit card for the $425?
 
wireless charging DOES WORK with otterbox defender on note 8 just has to be laying down wont charge in upright position if that helps anyone......i ordered at 9:30am on aug 24th mine shipped on 9-9 and delivered on 9-12 in ohio......
 
Well i printed out the return label and sent back my Trade in phone (GS5) here is hoping it is accepted with no issues.

I ordered the 5th and am stuck in preorder. My confirmation said it would be here by tomorrow but that's not happening. I just did a chat and they are trying to tell me there is a problem with my payment is why. This is bull. I didn't finance and I told my credit card it's a legit charge when I ordered and it said pending up until a few days ago. They told me I have to call and wait on hold for an hour to talk to somebody. Screw you Samsung!

I ordered directly from Samsung as a former Note 7 owner. They sent the deal to me at the email address I used to register both of the Note 7's. I called them as I have a Note 3, and they told me as a previous Note 7 owner they still will give me the $425 on any smartphone as a trade in, after reading here, I hope both reps I talked to told me the truth. I've never ordered directly from Samsung before, I hope it's a good experience. I took both the reps names, times of the calls, and reference numbers.

First order confirmation they sent me said it will ship by Sept 15th. Today, the 13th, I got an email asking me to send in proof of Note 7 purchase. So I sent a pic of both N7 boxes with skew, and copy of the Best Buy orders page that shows I both purchased it and returned it. That seemed weird to me as they are the ones that initiated the contact. Best Buy told me the best they could do for me was $150 off and the free gifts, that's why I went the Samsung route. My order still says pre-order, I ordered an Unlocked phone.

1.) Will it change to a shipping date when it's ready to ship?

2.) Is it possible that there are so many Unlocked phones ordered that the shipment will be delayed due to lack of available phones to ship?

3.) Anyone know how many phones they manufactured to ship, and how many orders so far?
 
Does anyone here work for UPS or know anything about the Haleigh, FL UPS hub? UPS says the delay is from them even though in my area UPS is doing full service.

If so can you tell me how long they expect the hub to be closed for?
 
Ordered on the 5th as well and gave up yesterday when no one could give me any information. Said it was a payment problem which is not possible.

Ordered from Verizon at 4pm and using my new Note 8 to write this!

My original oreder for the N8 i just used the note7 link and all was verified just eith email address no phone call
 
I just received my direct from Samsung unlocked Note 8 and Gear 360 camera today via FedEx. Just be warned, both items were shipped in a box with very little padding (2 air pouches). The Gear 360 was in a clear plastic pouch and the Note 8 was by itself. The Note 8 box didn't have any tamper-proof seal stickers or anything, so I'm not sure if this is a refurb or if they just ship their unlocked phones without a tamper-proof seal. The packing receipt looked like it was printed on an old 90s inkjet printer that was running out of ink. I'll do the full unboxing when I'm home from work. The other thing that I'm still wondering about is the label to ship back your pre-owned phone. It wasn't included in the box so I'm assuming once I register the device, one will be provided for me?

Has anyone else had an experience similar?
 
My unlocked Note 8, wireless charger (no micro-SD card) arrived yesterday. Order was placed on Aug 30th, $544 was charged to my credit card. I'm using the sim card and 256GB micro SD card from my S7E, so far so good.

I called about my Note 4 and they said it wouldn't count. So, I bought a used s5 and will use that..

I mean Sammy was giving a better deal, but I've actually never purchased a product directly from them. Based on the quality of product, you'd think the shipping & customer support experience would be just as premium. I have had to deal with their CS and I can say it is sub-par at best. Let's hope this deal is worth it...

That is the only reason why I went with it, but I'm starting to think it was a bad idea. Especially from the s8 trade in, and in general the craptastic customer service they offer.

My mom said she'd give me $300 for my S7 Edge. I'm thinking that is better than rolling the dice and hoping to get $425 from samsung. I can then order it from Best Buy and pick it up in store. $300 sure beats $25. I'd probably still get the unlocked model at Best Buy before my samsung.com order shows up if it ever does.
 
So my order page FINALLY updated to "Update Payment"
So I put in a different credit card and the payment immediately went through so lets see what happens next

It probably updated because I told the customer rep to escalate the problem tom the higher ups which she did

There should have done this MUCH SOONER

I ordered mine on the 29th. Still showing on pre-order. What is up with all of this garbage?
