Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I'm a former Note 7 owner, ordered direct from Samsung (T-Mobile version), it's now been shipped, with a Sep 12 delivery date (via FedEx). I have a naive question that I'm guessing many of you know the answer to. I am going to give my current phone (an S7 Edge) to my wife when the Note 8 arrives. My question is: do I need to go in to a T-Mobile store and have them do anything? Or can I just move my the sim card from my wife's current phone (a Note 4) into the S7 edge, and move my sim card from the S7 Edge to the Note 8? (Obviously, I'd have to reset the S7 edge, set her up on that, etc.) I've poked around in the "Bringing your own phone" section of the T-Mobile web site, but that didn't answer my question.

That's pretty much the magic of GSM carriers. I ordered the T-mobile variant of the Note 8 in Black, also estiamted for September 12th. All you need to do is switch out the SIM cards, at least that was how it was a couple its ago. Things might have changed, but high chance they haven't.

@TechKomm - I know samsung CS sucks, but all I can tell you right now is just be patient bro.

If you run down samsung trying to get answers you will only end up pulling your hair out.

I suggest you should, I cancelled my order from Samsung and ordered from BB several hours ago, and my order is already preparing to ship on best buy. Not gonna deal with Samsung's stupidity.

I ordered on Aug 24th. Comfirmed but no shipping yet and I'm in PA. No ryhme or reason. The shipping has just been handled terribly.

Same. Ordered it early on the 24th and it still hasn't shipped yet. Think I'll sue Samsung for not getting it to me early. =P

For those doing the trade in promo and got their phone, did you get instructions on how to send your trade in back?

The site says to just print the provider label and ship only your device. I shipped mine today. I used the same packaging my Note 8 came in.

Ordered my AT&T N8 on 8/31 w/ next day shipping. Order was confirmed and shipped today. Tracking says it will be delivered on 9/12. That's 2-day shipping. CC not charged yet to verify if I was charged for next day.

Was just charged for the order. Minus the cost of next day. WTH?

I have classes at different time through out the week and I don't know when the delivery guy will show up. I live in a women's dorm and packages usually just gets left by the door and residents will bring the packages in when they sees them. I don't know if the phone requires a signature? Even if it doesn't, I don't know if I want my Note8 be left by the door or be placed in a mail room where 50 other girls have access to it. I mean, some of the girls in my dorm lacks moral and I've seen them doing some pretty shady stuff. The only time I will be home full day is Saturday, but that means ANOTHER WEEK OF WAITING. Anyways, so there's no way I could pick it up from the FEDEX office?

According to my FedEx shipment, it says indirect signature required, so they should be getting a signature. I have the same question about pick up. I can tell from tracking that it is at the sort facility near my house and it will sit there until Monday when they deliver it on a weekday. I would like to pick it up but it seems that I am not able to hold it at any location for pickup. That selection is greyed out on the FexEx page. I wonder if I just go over there tomorrow, if I could get it. I doubt it. :-/

I pre-ordered the unlocked model on 8/26 and I am still stuck at preorder. My initial email said it will ship 9/11 but I am doubting that right now. Used the Note 7 promo too. Feels bad man. Feels bad.

Yo friends. So my phone is scheduled for delivery on Tuesday. But I will be in class then work until 8pm, can't call in sick because I'm a poor college student. Is there a way I could have Fedex hold the package for pickup? There isn't an option to do that on the tracking website

Couldn't get this to work on the fedex website, or calling the 800#. I may end up having to leave a note on my door saying for them to try to deliver the next day. Grr.

It doesn't say that when I view that page. Everything with this ordering process seems to be hit or miss. What one person is reporting isn't what the next person is reporting. None of our orders seem to matter regardless of order times/color choice/network carrier/preordergift/or note 7 ownership/or location. I'm still on pre-order.

You will need to get a new sim card for her because the note 4 and s7 edge sim cards are different sizes.
