Samsung Epic EB13 (Froyo) Bugs

My Wife's epic had this problem. I rebooted several times, had to do a battery pull to get it to turn off. Finally I pulled the data card out to back it up and booted sans data card and it came up. Seems it was having a problem scanning media. Once it got one boot under its belt its done fine since then. I loaded the card back and everything worked great.

^ this is one of the reasons Sprint did not send out the EB13 OTA update. I've yet to have this problem though.

no problems so far. manually updated today. my phone was slow for about an hour but now it is working great. epic fail on the new sms app though

I had two issues: Google Calendar would not sync & 4G would only stay connected for a few minutes before it switched to "Zzzzzz" mode.

For the Calendar:
Go to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/ALL
Select Calendar and CLEAR DATA
Select Calendar Storage and do the same
Go to Calendar and select Settings/Calendar Syc
Select Google Account and toggle the check mark for your Google Accounts off & on again. Voila!

Anybody else have a fix for the 4G issue? Will a hard reset fix this?

pull the battery, that is the only way to get it back on.

Instead of pulling the battery, try this: press and hold volume up, power and camera. Should restart your phone.

I have NoLed app on my phone, which I LOVE this app, so I'm really dissapointed.....and now, the only thing it seems to notifiy me of is for text messages, I went into the menu, and I do have it set for Missed Calls and Voice messages as well, but they don't show up.....I also do not have any LED light on the phone for any of these items.....so far, that's the only problem I'm having, and I really wish I could figure out how to fix it!!! (oh, I got the update OTA yesterday)

A couple things I noticed. When using the stock music player (which is way too colorful, in my opinion), the songs in my playlists are going from Z-A instead of A-Z. There does not appear to be a way to fix this. (I usually use Player Pro as my default player, but wanted to play around with the new EQ settings for a bit)

Also, when playing a flash video/audio in-browser (Dolphin HD mini), the audio is slowed down and therefore makes the pitch level drop (makes women sound like men).

I used the usb computer method to update.

Well Im Back To My EVO After The Froyo Download...

I just cant believe after all these months of waiting and the excitement of finally getting the download it ends in disaster. Thanks Samsung and Sprint. I just reactivated my Evo to many of my Apps would just not load on my newly Froyoized Epic disaster.

You should try to hard reset most people who do encounter probs just need to hard reset and all is well...

People think that starting over from scratch is so bad in reality it only takes about an hour or 2

Try the new Dolphin Mini or HD - download from the market and use one to see if you have problems.

I have changed to HD, prefer everything it does.

So if it works for you, didn't resolve problem, but you have working browser without all the work to your phone.

A hard reset is just like a new phone, so you will lose everything not on the card, I hate those, try anything not to do one.

I manually updated to EB13 and find everything I do on it extremely slow compared to before. I am running stock. My screen also turns to landscape whenever it wants. You can't pull down the top bar and connect blue tooth devices, you have to go through a menu or wait until you start a call and then put bluetooth on, what a pain. Phone freezes once in a while too. Should I do a factory reset and wait for the official over the air update?

Quick question. Since the update has been pulled. What is going to be the method to get the NEW update for those of us who used the update.zip method to get EB13? I was running stock eclair unrooted before I updated to froyo. I will want the latest update but would like to know what is going to happen. An OTA or another update.zip? Or will I have to go back to eclair first?

Hi. I manually updated. I am not rooted. First big problem was sound, pics mp3. Found the answer of how to fix here. I just noticed my phone will not ring, or vibrate for incoming calls. I have checked the settings they are all set. I do however get other notifications for vm, SMS, email. I. would like to just wipe all data and start over but don't want to loose my apps. Can I just restore them from the market? is there a dependable app that I can use without having to root to back them up? Any help is appreciated. I'm ready to throw the phone at the wall. I left palm pre because I got tired of having to start all over with the phone with every update. Came to the Epic , which I love but like everyone else starting to get annoyed.

Call Sprint have them find you a service center in your area. Make them call and make you an appointment for the restoration of the Epic they damaged with there faulty O/S. There is no reason you should have to deal with it. Then demand a months service credit for your trouble. You'll get it.

Updated with the update.zip method. Everything worked fine but noticed yesterday I was also getting the browser force close issue.

Tried the card reformat, clear data, clear cache and none of those seem to work.

i hear factory restore/wiping has helped with issues. i have not had many issues so far.
grooverite - i think it is an issue with win 7 64 bit drivers because that happened to me a lot on stock eclair before the update

Just did the factory restore. Wiped everything. Even my Angry Birds achievments:-[. Browser still crashes. Uhgg!!

I'm on the phone with sprint, they are taking no responsibility what so ever for it, and no credits are being issued even if the update has rendered your phone useless for certain amounts of time. ( at least that is what THIS rep. is telling me).
