Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - Any news on our tablets for updates

I asked the guy at the Samsung store about the update. He said that we will get an update but it will not be an update that will make our original Note 10.1 like the 2014 version. He said that the original version is not powerful enough to handle the new S - PEN stuff along with all the other new software the new Note 10.1 2014 comes with. He said that we will see Kit Kat between now and the end of February. I have been thinking of selling my original note 10.1 and buying the new 2014 version.

I really hope this is true.

How Samsung treats users.

I am only waiting for a Windows tablet that suits my needs, so I can use OneNote. The only device so far that is close is a Fujitsu Stylistic Q584.
But the price they are asking for it is outrageous. So it looks like I'll just have to wait a bit longer. Love my N8020 LTE, but the lack of attention by Samsung for Snote has driven me away.

Yeah it's pretty sad. This tablet is more than capable enough to handle the current features and UI.

I am Aquaman.

This is why I droped my S3 in favor of a Droid MAXX (which I love) and will be selling my Note 10.1 and Note 8 on Craigslist. No more Sammy for me.

I also want to sell My 6T N 8000 and trade it with 2014 edition but I have no budget for that now. I really hope Samsung g' us the 4.3 update, soon!! I love Galaxy Note but I must admit update issues really makes me disappointed.

Here you go.

From Samsung Support on Facebook.

My question: Can anyone at Samsung officially confirm or deny the 4.3 or 4.4 update for the Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 devices? Is this device on the update cycle list or not? We have been patient and just want an official yes or no. Do I need to start looking into a new device or will my Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 be updated to the latest Android version?

Samsung lays out which devices will get Android 4.4.2 KitKat | Android Central

I'll believe it when I see it. I remember how Samsung also announced that the US Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (GT-P6210) was going to get 4.1.2. AFAIK, it never happened. The last official US release for that device was 4.0.4 in July 2012, IIRC. I finally flashed the UK/Ireland 4.1.2 version before I finally gifted the device.

My point? Don't hold your breath waiting for this to happen - if it does, fine; if not, I won't be surprised.

Yeah me too. 10.1 was also on dubious lists for 4.2.2 and 4.3 and we all know how that worked out...

It is an official announcement but the OTA roll out may take months to complete.

Samsung Galaxy U.S. devices currently scheduled to receive the KitKat update include select carrier variants of the Galaxy Note? 3, Galaxy Note? III mini?, Galaxy Mega?, Galaxy Light, Galaxy Note? 8.0, Galaxy Tab? 3, Galaxy Note? 10.1, Galaxy Note? 10.1 2014 Edition.

Availability varies by carrier and product, with updates beginning today and continuing throughout the coming months.

I noticed that too. I think the Wifi 10.1 is more likely to get the OTA update directly from Samsung before (and if) the carriers release theirs.
