Samsung Galaxy Note 3

UGH, according to Sam Mobile, they seem to think the Note 3 will launch in October, or November here in the states at a dedicated event. Bummer if true.

Seeing as the first big batch of these (4 MM?) were manufactured with the S800, I am hoping that the states release is a lot sooner than previous releases. Since they put off manufacturing the Exynos devices, maybe this paves the way for a somewhat global simultaneous release.

Judging by past history, I believe Note 3 will be here in the states on October.

My upgrade is October 1st. It would be awesome if it were out that day as I've never had a day 1 phone and is like to wait in line for it. On the other hand, if its released before then I'll be just as happy. If its not until like a week or more into October then I'll be sad.

i though you had the gpro?
anyways i bought a used note 2 a month ago to tide me over until i can compare the gn3 & nexus 5. so i probably wont end up buying anything until november.

I left the GPro a while back, had the GS4, then HTC One, they ditched AT&T all together and went back to Verizon. Glad I did AT&T service was just horrible for me, no matter what they claimed I could NEVER get above 1 bar of Edge at my house despite their claims I was in an 4G (HSDPA) zone.

Does anyone know if the Note 2 for Verizon was released the same day as the Note 2 for other carriers? I am afraid that the Note 3 will come out at the end of September or early October on the all carried except for Verizon and I will have to wait until Christmas for it to come out.

The note 2 released after the other networks, Verizon needed more time to gut call blocking I guess lol.

Nope, the Verizon Note 2 came out later on Nov. 27 (pre-orders started Oct. 25). The AT&T version was Nov. 9 (pre-orders started Oct. 25), while Sprint was Oct. 25 and T-Mobile Oct. 24.

If I was betting, I don't think Verizon will be late to the party again this year. They have a lot of pull when it comes to manufacturers. There was a report a few weeks ago stating they would actually be first this time around. I realize that the S4 was late as well. Hopefully, they saw their lost revenue and learn from it.

What's wrong w/the S4's sound? I think it pushes my Senn HD595s pretty durned well.

Samsung moved away from the DAC/amplifier combination in the S3 to a new combo that causes hiss, crackling and distortion in some headphones. All of my headphones seem to fall into the "some" category. Quick personal research says that the impedance of the phones I like don't play well with the S4 setup. The S4 delivers its best audio in a narrow band. I only experience problems at volumes above mid. I still have my S3 and no problema with the same equipment.

The S4 has 16bit audio and the Note 3 is rumored to have 24-bit.

Note 3, here I come.

There is a ready to launch note 3 someone is slinging:confused:

I am really looking forward to the GNote 3!!! Cant wait until the announcement tomorrow to see if this phone is really the beast the rumored specs say it is!!!

I know Benchmarks don't matter, but can someone tell me how the S4 benchmarks against the Note 3 here? I've read in other places that these benchmarks are actually lower than that of the S4. I'm not buying the phone based on how it benchmarks, but I hope it doesn't have the same TouchWiz lag the S4 has.

I think the S4 scored higher - but it does not mean much yet (I'm sure there are tweaks to be made). Just good to see this out in the wild.

It does not matter anyway - I am getting this big boy

As far as Glbenchmark goes ,Note 3 should have big advantage over S4

(Snapdragon 600,adreno 320@450mhz) S4 scores 17fps in Trex HD/44 fps in Egypt HD
(Exynos 5410,SGX544MP3@480mhz) S4 scores 12fps/40Fps

(Snapdragon 800,adreno 330@450mhz) Scores 26fps/60-65fps

Now Mali T628MP6 is 2x of Mali T604MP4 (in nexus 10)
So,
(Exynos 5420,Mali T628MP6@533-633mhz) should score around 25-31fps/80fps.

The only thing wrong is that we don't have LTE in our area. Friends who have bought HTC One, for example, have had to subsist on 3G and they are not happy about it. They can't stream video and any downloads take forever. Sprint keeps saying, "by the end of the month, by the end of the month." This has gone on since June. I honestly wonder if Sprint will have LTE working well by end of year, and by then there could possibly be another hot phone. But other than OIS I can't imagine what it could have more than the Note3.
