So I bought the HDMI adapter for my old Note 2 and just plugged it in my Note 4 and it seems to work great. $12 is a good price. I had bought an adapter for my wife's ipad and it has no cables only plug receptacle that need a powered USB and HDMI cable. The one above already has the cables, it has to have a powered USB to run the conversion electronics hidden in the converter cabling and a micro USB to Galaxy micro usb adapter, think that one get's you through to the HDMI somehow. What I like is as long as it is plugged in it is also charging the phone so you don't have to worry about screen on running down the battery.
I bought an HDMI to micro USB adapter with a 5 pin to 11 pin adapter from monoprice for around $13. It allows me to mirror my phone to my tv. There is minor lag but it works.

With the correct HDMI cable, will simply plugging it into the TV start screen mirror? Or do you need to access option in the phone?
My Note 4 screen seems to have taken a crap and I need access to some stuff before giving the phone up for replacement... but cant do anything on the screen obviously!
