Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs. iPhone 6 Plus

And their retail cost for the the highest amount of storage is what? The difference between them is exorbitant. Same for what is being charged for their ram in their other devices.

Compare prices with Android devices.

Apple charges premium for what other oems charge.

Because they have a premium product that everyone wants. I know people that call every tablet an iPad because that's what they know tablets as. Premium products come with premium products.

It's not some piece of plastic, it's an elegant aluminum device and if they want to charge more than the usual for extra storage, if people want it, they'll pay for it.

I have a 128gb iPhone, do you think I care about how much it costs? No one else does either, because I bought an iPhone, there is no other way to add storage, so if I have to pay more, then so what?

Some things you have to live with. Want a Porsche? Don't know how to drive manual? Guess what? That'll be 6k for automatic.

Some things you have to deal with.

The price to enter may be low, but if you want additions, expect to pay more.

Companies have every right to charge what they want for their product and consumers don't seem to have a problem with it.

People don't even know what these tablets that other companies come out with are:

If and when Apple starts sticking 3/4/or more in the iPhone see what is charged then....

Normal price because they HAVE NEVER CHARGED EXTRA FOR RAM IN IOS DEVICES!!!!!!! CITE ONE BLOODY EXAMPLE WHERE AN IOS PRODUCT GOT MORE EXPENSIVE BECAUSE OF RAM ALONE!!!

Re: Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Which would you recommend?

Will they charge more for the iPhone when they have to add more.... I say that they will and pass the cost increase on to the consumer.

Apple rapes the public whenever you buy more ram from them. They do the same exact thing when it comes to their storage solutions as well.

You questioning this shows that you have never had to.

If you seriously think that whenever they decide to increase the ram in the iPhone, that they will actually do something like that, then I don't know what to say.

Let me ask you something, are you saying that they will actually do something like charging more than a previous year's version of a phone unsubsidized? Or are you saying something stupid like they will actually release the iPhone 7 with ram options of 1 or 2?

Because if it's the later, if you seriously think that the general public really understands the difference between 1 gb of ram and 2, enough to the point that Apple would actually make that an option on a smart phone, then you don't know how Apple does mobile.

There's a reason Apple doesn't have 1000 phones with different names and resolutions and ram and storage options. It's to make sure they don't confuse the consumer.

So I hope that all you are suggesting is that the unsubsidized price will go from ex. 1000 to 1050 for the next year's version, while the subsidized price stays the same.

I really hope you don't think Apple is in the business of doing stupid things like making on smartphone with one resolution and set of ram and then making another smartphone with a different resolution and set of ram (with the same screen size) and charging different prices for these "options".

Because that won't happen.

That's the thing. Apple won't even increased unsubsidized pricing.

They may, I'm not sure if there was a difference between the unsubsidized price of the 5s and 6,but it wouldn't be surprising to me if they charged slightly more.

For subsidized, there were rumors that they would tack on an extra $100 across the board for the 6's a few months ago, but then you raise the barrier for entry, sell less phones, etc.

At the end of the day,Apple knows what they are doing and they won't do stupid little petty things like that when it comes to mobile.

They lowered the price of the iPhone 6 compared to the 5S for my country....

I'm not even going to click that link
You don't have to. But the information is there if you ever decide you want access to it.

If someone came to you tomorrow and told you that the Porsche Panamera 4 was the highest selling car in America, with over 30 million cars sold, your response would be : but the ford 5150, the Ford Focus, the Kia optioma, the Honda Accord and the Chrysler 200 all combined to sell 35 million.

Yeah, I have noticed Apple people really like this analogy. But only when it suits them. If the iPhone sells more than the Galaxy phone, the analogy magically applies. But when Android sells more than iOS, it suddenly doesn't apply anymore.

The wheels on those goalposts are kept well greased.

You don't give credit where credit is do.
I do and have. People just choose to focus on my criticisms.

I know that this is android central and android is king and lord of all lords and the savior to the masses and customization and sliding widgets and notification lights and swapping batteries and 4847 mega pixel cameras. I get that. That's cute and all, but why not try and remove the homer glasses for a minute and be a little objective?
Do you really believe you are being objective based on what you just said?

When you put the iPhone next to any other phone, it sells the most. When you put the iPhone next to the Galaxy s5, it sells more.
And more sales are better amirite? Oh...except when we are comparing OS's...then suddenly more sales = Ford. Makes perfect sense.

When you put the iPhone next to the Galaxy s5, alpha, note curve, note regular, Galaxy mega, HTC 1, LG G3, nexus 6, one plus one, one plus two, one plus 3, hawewi whatever, Motorola whateve, etc, of course it's not going to have the most market share.
Why not? The people who are buying the nexus 6, and HTC, and Galaxy all have the option to buy Apple instead if they want, right? So why aren't they?

Re: Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Which would you recommend?

There's a reason Apple doesn't have 1000 phones with different names and resolutions and ram and storage options. It's to make sure they don't confuse the consumer.
So the iPhone 6 is an attempt to confuse the customer? You do know that the 6 and 6+ do not have the same resolution or PPI, right? Those are not different generation phones...they were released at the same time. The cameras are different too (though you'd never know it based on their less-than-honest commercials).

Different display quality, different size, different cameras (and one bends more than the other).

I really hope you don't think Apple is in the business of doing stupid things like making on smartphone with one resolution and set of ram and then making another smartphone with a different resolution and set of ram
LOL

So Premium.

Maybe you should get a case for your tablet too.

It's not some piece of plastic
I know, plastic would be more durable.

Maybe the fact that it is so fragile adds to it's value? You know, like a faberge egg.

I have a 128gb iPhone, do you think I care about how much it costs? No one else does either, because I bought an iPhone, there is no other way to add storage, so if I have to pay more, then so what?
So if they charge you $2000, you'd still be ok with that?

This is part of the Apple stereotype...that they are paying for an image rather than a quality product. And that this is why Apple can charge whatever they want and they will pay it.

Apple_Fans.jpg

They are charging you far more for the additional storage than it actually is costing them for the storage. It is not "premium" storage...it is the same as any other storage.

Some things you have to live with. Want a Porsche? Don't know how to drive manual? Guess what? That'll be 6k for automatic.

When I buy a porche I know I am getting car that will do everything my Honda will do and more. It's worth the price because it really is premium.

Apple products are not analogous IMO...Android equivalents match or exceed them on every level.

Sells for $500 starting which is what I paid for my original Air. Yet this one has increased specs and all that stuff.

Lol, "increased costs", barely increased costs, more bang for your buck.

I thought you just said "bang for your buck" doesn't matter? You were just poo-pooing all the extra features Android has, but now you want 'more bang for your buck"? Now value suddenly matters?

Why does Apple need to upgrade at all? Are you saying you would not pay the same price for last year's product? What makes it less "premium" now than it was last year?

Everyone, you see what he removed from my the last paragraph he quoted right? Lmaoooo this guy is a con artist, selectively omitting parts of quotes to push his agenda.

Lmaooo wow, do you really have to stoop this low? Really?

Two different operating systems. I'm not quite sure how hard this concept is to understand.

If it was two androids being compared, would specs be important? Yes.

If it was two iOS devices would specs be important?yes

If it was an android device vs an iOS device, would specs be important? Nope.

Apples and oranges

Lol someone intentionally bends a piece of aluminum and that's what happens. Assuming that that is how you normally hold and treat your tablet, then I don't really know what to say.

That never happened to my nexus 7 or my iPad. But that wouldn't be because they are durable.

It's quite simply why that has never happened to me: I don't intentionally try to bend my products, because, well I'm not some type of weirdo who does things like this.

I really don't know what more needs to be said.

I could imagine that you are the type to bend your side mirror on your car with your hands and then go into the dealership, telling them that it isn't durable.

I guess you and me have a different way of using things.

Look at the first 15-20 minutes of this video http://youtu.be/qdYuj2NSZZ0

This is why I don't compare specs on two different operating systems.

All that ram and the phone still can't do the features that Samsung said it could. Look how much crap he goes through and this phone just came out.

Small sample size of course, but all this talk of this android device comes with 5 go of ram or 3 or whatever the case, but in the real world, how does it act?

I went through similar crap with my galaxy s3. I still go through this crap on my nexus 7 whenever I use it.

I'm saying this not to put down android at all, because I like the operating system, minus a few things, but all that ram they pack in and it still can't do what you want it to do with out some lag or slowdown? And people complain about the specs of other devices on other operating systems?

Come on now. Stop comparing apples and oranges. You might have 3gb of ram in your device, but maybe you need another 3. Android and iOS aren't the same. These arguments of specs across platforms don't make any sense, it's stupid. Don't compare your car to my car. Sure they are modes of transportation but how we arrive to our destination is not the same. My car may run on electric while yours runs in oil.

So display PPI and resolution are dependent on the OS now? When did that happen?

Oh lord, what are you going to ask next: "so battery, screen size, material, design are dependent on the OS now? When did that happen?"

Troll harder

You know exactly what I'm saying.
