Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs. iPhone 6 Plus

You think a difference of 3100 and 2800 means "destroyed'? LOLOL!!!

Yeah, pretty much. That is not even the most powerful CPU used on Android devices...thats just the Snapdragon 805.

Even burdened by the Touchwiz pollution on the Note, it still beats the A8. Apple no longer has bragging rights as "the best" of anything.

The new Material design apps are now every bit as polished as App Store apps too...so the final feather in Apple's cap is about to be rudley yanked out.

Do you know benchmarks do not factor in custom skins? Also the 805 IS the strongest CPU currently for Android. Finally Apple has a lot more advantages than amazing apps..

So what? In real life usage they do. No matter how fast the Note 4 is, the Nexus will be faster.

Also the 805 IS the strongest CPU currently for Android.
And that alone is already beating the A8. This month the K1 will be out and in Spring the 810 will be out. Apple has become a follower.

Material Design is going to take that away finally as well. I already have several MD apps that are every bit as polished as any iOS app.

I already use the Today Calendar, Month Calendar Widget, Piktures gallery app, Cabinet file manager, Ready Contacts/Dialer, and Textra. I am not even on 5.0 yet and they are already as polished as any iOS app I have ever seen. Apple has lost CPU, Display, and UI dominance and now is going to lose that last bragging point as well.

OK bud. Whatever you wan to believe. Great thing there is something called consumer choice and I can buy whatever the hell I want.

Don't look at this as defeat, I am just tired if arguing about a basic principle you can't comprehend.

I was told the same thing when I predicted Android would pass the iPhone in marketshare. Then was told the same thing when I predicted Android would pass the iPad in marketshare. And then was told the same thing when I predicted the Play store would pass up the App Store in number of apps.

Apparently I have superhuman powers, because what I want to believe keeps coming true.

Great thing there is something called consumer choice and I can buy whatever the hell I want.
Who is saying you can't?

Don't look at this as defeat
It's impossible to do that. I couldn't if I wanted to.

107.37

629.7

Look those numbers up.It's the only "bragging point" that matters.

Lmao, "Apple has become a follower"

Your blind hatred combined with you actually believing that any of these things matter in the real world is just laughable.

You forgot to put "hatred" in quotes. Why does an anonymous opinion provoke you?

Obviously they matter in the real world. Most people buying smartphones are not buying Apple phones. Not even in the US.

Well that was fun.... Lol

In all seriousness though, Apple's thunder has been taken on just about every front.

Now the race is between them and Microsoft to have a fully integrated experience spanning both mobile and desktop. Which in itself is fine if you are needing to utilize those services and will come in quite handy once it works. I am fortunate that I don't.

But... Looking forward to see into the future once everything becomes centralized it will certainly be the distinguishing selling point of each.

I have seen the argument that ios is more polished than Android and that may be true to an extent because of the shear numbers of variations with Android devices, but with a little effort by the individual most of these variations can be cleaned and polished nicely. Some apps look bad regardless of what OS they are on but that is also dependant on the developer and outside of our control.

The benchmarks I have seen shows that the a8 in the iPhone does very well and leads in some things while the 805 leads in other ways... and this is a fact... however as I have said before once the 810 is out in the wild with it's larger ram and optimized gpu the table will be tilted in its favor and not just in performance but in actual cost as well.

Die hard Apple fans won't care though, since the vast majority of them have shown that they are willing to over pay for anything Apple releases..... When apple finally decides to increase the internal ram the price is going to be too expensive for the next iPhone for their topped out model.

Next spring we will see the new 810 and models with large amounts of ram and internal storage along with newer gpu's and the cycle will continue of who is the best... Interesting times are coming...........

You speak of how Apple is losing this and that as if it actually means anything. The general public doesn't give a damn, as has been proven many times. Apple can lose in every little magical category, but it doesn't matter because they still have the most in demand smartphone in the world. There may be thousands of variations of the Galaxy phone or htc or whatever, but there are only 2 iPhones.

The demand is high, the stock is at its all time high. Yet you act as if Apple is somehow losing their dominance. They are the king, the top dog. No QHD or 7000ghz processor or silly home screen widget will change that.

No matter how far "behind" you may think iOS is, the iphone still remains the top dog.

Apple isn't the follower here, they aren't the ones making attack ads, they're the ones under attack.

So while you may act as if somehow Apple is "behind" the times, and now superior a processor is, people obviously either

1. Don't see any difference

Or

2. Don't care

You hate Apple, we get it, but sometimes you have to sit back and realize that Apple isn't competing with android in the sense that, it needs to be on par with it spec wise, or it needs to have every single feature that is present in android.

The device runs smoothly

It's as simple as that, that's all that the general public cares about. So Apple can "lose" in all those magical categories that are meaningless at the end of the day, and still raise itself to new heights.

An android processor being 373737373 times faster on paper really doesn't matter to the iOS user or to Apple. It's all about "can I do what I need to do, can I send and respond to texts on all my devices, can I check my email, can I watch a YouTube video, etc"

These numbers are all arbitrary.

Apples stock is at an all time high, the shareholders (myself included) are very happy with the direction of the company, and the sky isn't falling.

Apple has proven that they are the leader in this race time and time again.

This explains why it means something.
Apple's profits fetish could spell its DOOM • The Register

The general public doesn't give a damn, as has been proven many times.
Which is why more people are buying Apple phones that Android phones still.

Oh, wait a minute...

Apple can lose in every little magical category, but it doesn't matter because they still have the most in demand smartphone in the world.
Not when it comes to operating systems.

The demand is high, the stock is at its all time high.
Used to be that way for Blackberry and IBM as well. Whistling past the graveyard?

Yet you act as if Apple is somehow losing their dominance.
It's already lost. Their operating system no longer leads the market. Most smartphones sold are not iphones.

Apple isn't the follower here
I disagree. They have been reduced to copying features from their competitors (features often years old) and their hardware is no longer the best on the market.

You hate Apple
You keep forgetting to put "hate" in quotes.

Apples stock is at an all time high
Most people don't buy smartphones based on how well the vendor's stock is doing. Just sayin.

Die hard Apple fans won't care though, since the vast majority of them have shown that they are willing to over pay for anything Apple releases..... When apple finally decides to increase the internal ram the price is going to be too expensive for the next iPhone for their topped out model.
Yeah...Apple only has to increase specs enough to convince Apple users to stay. They don't have to be "the best", just "good enough".

Because of that there will always be a niche market for their products. Just as there is with the Mac.

Next spring we will see the new 810 and models with large amounts of ram and internal storage along with newer gpu's and the cycle will continue of who is the best... Interesting times are coming...........
Whats really changed is that it used to take longer in the cycle for Android products to catch up. It used to be the norm that Apple would debut with the fastest CPU and best display. Thats not the case anymore.

Well that was fun.... Lol

Apple won't just increase the price iPhones because they added more RAM. Fact.

I'm not even going to click that link, because you still have the notion that 10000 manufacturers selling a combined 10 million phones is more impressive than 1 manufacture selling 9 million.

If someone came to you tomorrow and told you that the Porsche Panamera 4 was the highest selling car in America, with over 30 million cars sold, your response would be : but the ford 5150, the Ford Focus, the Kia optioma, the Honda Accord and the Chrysler 200 all combined to sell 35 million.

More cars sold today are not Porsche Panamera 4's. The car has little market share. It's not the best selling car.

This is how you think. This is what you do. You don't give credit where credit is do.

I know that this is android central and android is king and lord of all lords and the savior to the masses and customization and sliding widgets and notification lights and swapping batteries and 4847 mega pixel cameras. I get that. That's cute and all, but why not try and remove the homer glasses for a minute and be a little objective? Why not see something for what it is?

When you put the iPhone next to any other phone, it sells the most. When you put the iPhone next to the Galaxy s5, it sells more.

When you put the iPhone next to the Galaxy s5, alpha, note curve, note regular, Galaxy mega, HTC 1, LG G3, nexus 6, one plus one, one plus two, one plus 3, hawewi whatever, Motorola whateve, etc, of course it's not going to have the most market share.

That's how market share works, lmao.

Unfortunately they will... Sure they will add a few extra features but they always have increased the cost for this, and exponentially so. Apple charges more than any other oem for this and not just in the iPhone. This is one of my main gripes about the company.

Don't believe me... Price what Apple charges for a ram upgrade in the Imac then price that same exact ram elsewhere. Why do you think that they aren't allowing you to upgrade the ram in the new Mac mini this year...? The iPhone will be no different.. The top end 6 with 128 gigs internal as opposed to 32/64 gigs is another example.. Don't deceive yourself on this..

WTF??? the 5 got a RAM upgrade and it wasn't more expensive. Wait... Do you know the difference between RAM and storage?

Sells for $500 starting which is what I paid for my original Air. Yet this one has increased specs and all that stuff.

Lol, "increased costs", barely increased costs, more bang for your buck.

Sent from my Apple iPad Air using Tapatalk

And their retail cost for the the highest amount of storage is what? The difference between them is exorbitant. Same for what is being charged for their ram in their other devices.

Compare prices with Android devices.

Apple charges premium for what other oems charge.

If and when Apple starts sticking 3/4/or more in the iPhone see what is charged then....
