Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Specs

Hey... if you're going to live and think like that, you'll be WAITING for the rest of your LIFE!
Triple Booyah!!!

(because what about the Note 10... and the Note 11 - the 12? You follow my pattern - they'll always be something better down the road grunt - that's the nature of electronics unfortunately)
Exactly! I thought this was basically an American site (I know lots of internationals too, moi included) but sounds like a load of whinging pomms lol. Underwhelming...only an S8 with pen...smaller battery...blah blah. Then buy something else or don't buy anything. Note 7 was awesome for me, yes I used s pen a lot (never had one B4)) and, no, the curved edges didn't bother me. But all this hoohah about price and comparisons, get over it. You'll NEVER see the perfect phone just for you otherwise Samsung would only sell 1 unit. If you don't like it. If you can't afford it. If it doesn't rock your boat. Don't buy it! Wait for the next model, but stop whinging. There. That's my 2c worth☺️

OK, but what have you been using instead of an S-pen? You do know that you can get the Note FE, which is really a fixed up Note 7, for about $300.00 less that the Note 8. IMHO, it's a viable option.:p
So go buy one......in my opinion!

So, one of the main problems with the Note 8 is the 3300 mAh battery - the Note FE has 3200 mAh... AND I have not been able to find any FCC Approval Documentation anywhere on the Note FE (as I was actually thinking about it when I first heard they were doing it a few months ago) which, to me, makes the phone illegal in the US, no?

I mean, I really toy'd with idea myself because I loved my Note 7... but after searching the FCC Site, came up empty... I'm not trying to bust here!
You don't know yet that the battery is a "problem".

I DON'T think the battery is a problem - one of Grunt0300's complaints about the Note 8 is the size of the battery but then he comes back and suggests buying the Note FE with an even smaller battery. That's who my post was to!

My complaints about the Note 8, were about the size of the phone, and the price of the phone. The Note FE started out selling for $600.00-$650.00. At that price i believed that it was a better buy than the Note 8. Now however, eBay has started selling them for $750.00 and up. At that price, in my opinion, the Note FE is NOT a good buy. It was never about the battery. I've read that the Note 9 will be the same size as the 8, so unless i can find a way to stretch the size of my hands, it's a no go for me. I'd rather get a Note 5, and run MM for the next two years.:p

P.S. If anyone reading this post has the Tmo version of the Note 5, 64gb, and in good to mint condition, send me a PM, and we will talk about the price that you want.:p

Damned, I meet all the criteria except mine's mint 64GB AT&T! I'll be selling once I get the Note 8... actually, it's boxed and I'm using the S7 Active so it's been my backup since the Note 7s went away! I take it out, turn it on and check the charge every month or so, etc. - only thing I haven't done 'cuz I don't have a SIM card in it, is Updates. Still running Marshmallow 6.0.1 CPJ1

If it's not Tmo branded, I don't think it will support wifi calling. Anyway, I still have to sell my mint Nexus 6P.

Is there a way to get crop or stretch view of 16/9 tv show from Netflix or Xfinity Stream to fill the screen of Note 8?

I really want to get this phone but the size is my main concern. I usually keep my phone in my pant pockets..(cargo pants or shorts). This is a big phone at 6.2". My current phone is the iPhone 7 plus which is a big phone in its self. If I get a case it will be even bigger to put in my pant pockets. I'm not the one who uses a outterbox and clips to my belt. Anyone else concerned that this is a to big to carry around. Its easy for a female to put it in their purse but not easy for a guy.

There is for YouTube with the latest Samsung Software Update.. And don't look for it on the V30 as only Samsung has this option for their 18:9 screens in the S8, S8+, N8.. Fit, Stretch, & Zoom... Again not on the LG V30 or any other LG with a 18:9 screen so LG owners are stuck watching letterbox bars take up their screens realestate.. I haven't seen Netflix or Xfinity streaming just YouTube... If it's not their then it's up to the person writing the Netflix, Xfinity, app software to add it.. IMO.... I would rather have the aspect ratio options than the better sound of the V30.. I watch a lot of videos and movie trailers.. And the aspect ratio options during streaming video are very useful.. Kudos to Samsung for adding this. :)

*When watching YouTube on a Samsung 18:9 phone just tap on the middle right side of the screen and a small circle like icon will appear with several aspect ratio options.

In the VZW store it worked on S8+ but could not get the icon to change aspect in the Note 8
I tapped and tapped but nothing.

Can anyone w s8+ verify a Netflix option availability?

I was worried too but went to my AT&T Store Friday and saw one for the first time. I put it next to my S7 Active which is in a case and I carry in my front pants pocket. The Note was about 3/8" taller without a case - I really don't think it's going to be a problem even with a case. My S7 leaves plenty of room in the pockets of my jeans, pants, shorts... I really don't think the Note 8 will be an issue!

I held my iPhone 7plus with a case next to it a few days ago and it really wasn't much taller than my current phone. But it definitely was thinner and I could get my whole hand wrapped around it. With the iPhone I could not.

Agreed... definitely thinner, which is great for grip but I'm not sure about real estate when it comes to using the S-Pen for graphics and things like that - will have to see once I get it! Of course, it's been so long since they took away my Note 7, I've probably forgotten anyway!

Quick question. When I plug in my Note 8 with a wall adapter it shows "fast charging". When I use my brand new Anker wireless charger and place my phone on it there is no indication of fast charging being enabled. Is it suppose to be shown when wireless charging as well? Does the note 8 support fast wireless charging?

Wireless Charger being used: Anker | PowerPort Wireless 12W
