Samsung: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

Each time a new phone comes out, Samsung pre-orders seem to leave a few unlucky people stuck in limbo for weeks while everyone else gets their phones. (I pre-ordered from B&H this time and Samsung delayed their pre-order inventory too, but mine ended up shipping only one business day late.)

I wonder if you can cancel a stuck Samsung pre-order, place a new order instead, but still use the email confirmation of your original pre-order to claim Samsung's pre-order gift.

I got an email offering up to $600 trade-in credit (seems to refer to 128gb version of Note 9 only) but when you go to the website, it only offers $300 trade - in credit

So... I ordered the phone again, 1st I was told by the agent that the only way to cancel the order I'd have to wait for it to ship which I know is not true, and secondly, if I'm going to wait any longer for the first phone I ordered I might as well get a free/included item that I really do want, which is the Gear S3 Frontier. I prefer that over a pair of headphones any day, and I don't mind waiting another month to get it. Who knows maybe it'll ship before my pre-order does.

Im glad I have tmobile. I can just pre order via amazon next time and say screw rolling the dice with samsung.
 
That would make me nuts lol. We have your $1200 phone now, but you're not allowed to have it until Monday cause we said so.
My Note 9 is sitting at the fedex ship center 10 miles from my house. They said they can't release until Monday. I say it's dumb.
 
So I ordered from Samsung, Att variant 512. Still nothing. But my best buy has them in stock. I can't cancel though because my carrier thinks I have the phone. It's been almost a month since I pre-ordered and this bill already shows my first installment payment for a phone I don't have!
 
Alright guys n gals, I'm cancelling. I'm going to hope Att doesn't think I have the note 9 already, and I'm going to try to order through best buy. I'm done with this b.s. just talked to an agent an I've been pushed from August 24th, to September 4th, to September 23rd, to October 7th. Sammy needs to get their shiz together.
 
Alright, everything has been cancelled. I got the cancellation confirmation emails. I just have to wait for everything to go through to att, because they still think I have the phone. I'll worry about Samsung credititing me the first installment plan later. Side note, during the cancellation process I was never offered any kind of compensation.
 
Why are these in stock damn near every other website except Samsung?!

I'm not sure, probably because Samsung has no idea what they're doing. Chatted with Att support, and what a world of difference compared to Samsung support. I canceled my Samsung order, and the att rep spent a good half hour reversing the upgrade on their end. I was able to place my order through best buy, and I can pick it up tomorrow. I'm still doing Att financing, I just wasn't able to put $250 down like I did when I pre-ordered through Samsung. But I get a $150 best buy gift card and a wireless charger. I can use the best buy card to get the headphones or the v-bucks. So I'm pretty happy right now. Just to clarify, it's still an att blue 512 variant, just purchased through best buy.

Yeah, I just got the text message that it's ready for pickup. My local best buy had them in stock, so I ordered last night online to reserve it. I'll post an update in a little while just to confirm I have it.

Alright, I got mine today! Samsung really needs to get it together. I can't believe Samsung can't ship pre-orders but stores are starting to stock them. I guess I don't need to be in this thread anymore, but I'm still going to periodically check back here as I'm curious how long they'll drag this out. It's been real pre-order fam! I think the problem is with Samsung warehouse. They don't know what they are doing. I did 2 preorders 1st on 8/10 and the 2nd on 8/11 they were both with trade-ins, they told me my 2nd order was put on hold because they can only process 1 trade-in per household, they said once we received your 1st trade-in your 2nd orden will be processed. Guess what?? They received my trade-in 3 weeks ago and my 2nd order still on hold. I have chatted 5 times spoke 3 times with them and nothing has happened. I did order the phone again and they shipped it yesterday but my 2nd preorder still on hold. So, the problem here is, they are not paying attention to all the preorders, they are not prioritizing and they just doing whatever they want. The only thing its suck was that I wanted the $300 credit for my s7 edge. But I keep it and give it to my daughter.

I've been wondering this forever.. People are going to get their new iPhones before I get my Note 9. I am coming close now to canceling and just waiting for next year and just deal with my Note 8 for another year. Really could have used the extra storage (and I'm just going for the 128)....
 
Preordered my Blue 512GB Verizon device off Verizon 8/15, came back "Delivered by Oct. 21st." Cancelled and ordered Direct through Samsung (To get the headphones), and came back "Ships week of September 9th." Reached out September 12th and got no word other than "It'll ship this week."

Now that I'm seeing that preorder status doesn't seem to matter and I'll get this on doomsday anyway, I cancelled the device and am going to reorder to get the Gear S3 Frontier. (I'd rather have the watch than a pair of headphones anyway.)

EDIT: - That is, assuming the Note 9's don't experience a fiery catastrophe a-la the Note 7 (Which was the LAST Samsung phone I preordered...) Seeing that headline when I woke up this morning did not bode well for my confidence in seeing this phone.
