Samsung: Galaxy Note 9 Pre-Order Thread

I'm in the same boat with a lot of us here having pre-ordered over a month ago, but the fact of the matter is they are out of stock.
Being mad/frustrated with Samsung isn't going to change that. Emailing, BBB, waiting for a manager, the president or God to get back to you isn't going to change anything if they physically don't have the phone to sell you, what is the reasonable expectation by frequently contacting them, you don't believe them? I get the frustration, but jeez! BTW, buying from a carrier or another store wouldn't have changed anything unless you got it unlocked or the 128 model- have you seen the other threads?

I can't speak for everybody, but this would have been all ok with me with a little common courtesy from samsung. All they had to do is say hey we are having an issue and will not be able to ship your item on time. Not saying anything and making us have to call them to figure anything out and then lying to us when we do get ahold of them is not cool. All I am looking for is just the slightest bit of customer service. To not say one word up to this point is ridiculous and unprofessional. Now they say they have had my phone since August 31 and its awaiting fulfillment so I can't even cancel at this point.

See the thing is, they haven't once told me they are out of stock or backordered. Not on my order page, not any email updates (I didn't get the road block email) and in neither of my support chats. So there is nothing to "believe" for me. They continuously lied to us about when our phones would ship - so why would we believe them about anything?
And haven't you paid attention? You can literally buy the 512GB on Amazon with one day shipping right now...
Not sure what your point even is... If Samsung has lied to us and misled us, sitting quietly is not going to solve anything either. If you are upset about something, you should probably communicate about that, especially when a company is directly to blame.
Can Samsung magically make phones appear at this point if they don't have stock? No. But they can communicate with us, they can discount our orders, and most importantly for them, they can hopefully learn from this feedback, so that they don't make mistakes like this in the future. Not that any of us are ever buying from Samsung again.

Needless to say, they missed the 1-3 business day timeframe that they guaranteed me last week. At this point, I would place the order from Amazon, but I'm afraid of how that shipment might be affected by the hurricane (I'm in NC). So I guess I am sitting quietly for a few more days to see if this 'storm' blows over.

People's main frustration seems to stem from the fact that they pre-ordered a phone that was not delivered by street date and with no updates provided from Samsung. The workaround could be to cancel the order and get from Amazon. However, if someone pre-ordered, how does Amazon have them available, yet Samsung doesn't? If you pre-ordered, you should have first allocation. Also, you lose any pre-order incentives you may have been promised.

If you buy from amazon samsung doesnt lose 400+ dollars on a trade in since amazon isnt taking it. By the way every week I wait. My was supposed to ship out on the week of 26 aug, assured 1 to 3 buisness day 2 weeks ago. I dont even care anymore at this rate I'm tempted to cancel my order, keep my note 8 and buy an iPhone for my daughter just to spite samsung. I agree 100% with you. Samsung really dropped it with customer service. They tell you just enough to get you to the next week and then leave you hanging until the week after. I bought it with the samsung financing and they have me where they want me. No other phone company or store offers 400 off a phone plus free financing plus the ability to upgrade next year.

So I'm stuck waiting it out.

Order status: Order Placed {Since Monday morning}... no activity of shipping yet as they have mentioned in the mail that I will receive before Sep 15th ... LOL

Tired of the BS just submitted a lengthy BBB complaint. This is just wrong. Never in my life of buying any product have I ever been more jerked around than this one for over a month now. It's time to fight back some way some how.

Lol oh the irony Just got this email after my last post and was thinking to myself damn Samsung must have got wind of my BBB complaint quick? But low and behold it was just my note 9 case being delivered before I even have the note 9 in hand which by the way they told me is now on back order with no expected ship date but enjoy that nice empty silicone case you should be receiving in a few days!

How did you do that?
For a minute they offered you a 10% discount (up to $100) if you went through with canceling your order but they nixed it. I managed to get it but then I called and complained and they gave me an additional $99 voucher for the delay
