Samsung Galaxy S10 - Move contacts from Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync to Phone or Gmail

I just realized that as I've been adding contacts to my phone I've been saving them under Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync instead of to my phone or Gmail. I currently sync to my work email and my job ends in a few months so I definitely don't want to lose these contacts - especially since most of them are related to my recent job search. Is there an easy way to identify all the contacts saved to Exchange and move them?

Go to your contacts (using Outlook on a PC, most likely) and see if it can export your contacts. If it can, export them as a .csv file. Then you can import them at Google Contacts , check them for a good upload and, if it's good, delete them in Outlook. (If Outlook can't, ask your Exchange administrator how to get a .csv file of your contacts.)

I have the reverse problem. I started a new company that uses Exchange ActiveSync. I have an Android Samsung 10+ phone using Android 9.

When I get business cards from marketing contacts, I add them to my phone via an “adobe scan” program that takes photos of cards and populates the fields, adding them to my address book. I am then trying to copy the contacts (which by default are saved to my device) to my Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account so I can email them for marketing purposes. However, on my phone, the only options to move them to are my personal gmail or a secondary gmail that I use. Even though under “accounts” “Exchange Activesync” is set to sync, it is not an option to transfer these work contacts.

Open to ideas. Our IT department doesn't have an answer.

So your contacts are currently on the phone internal? Do you have an SD card in your phone? If you do open contacts app on phone. Click three lines on left top. You should see on bottom manage contacts. Click on that it opens up you will see import /export. Click export you then have option to export phone contacts to SD card. Export contacts that saves them to card. Then go back and click import and it gives you option to import file from card to Microsoft exchange. That has to be set as default. That will export file from SD card to Microsoft exchange. It's not hard to do just a few steps. I use a note 9 and s 10+ so I have file with 700+contacts on my SD card. So I just switch my SD from each phone.

Thanks, it seems that my IT department does have an answer and that is *you can't do it". They have my exchange account pretty much segregated for security.
