Samsung galaxy s4 battery fully discharged

How do you recharge a fully drained battery, when I put the battery into my phone all I get is a beeping and a display of a gray battery, nothing saying that the battery is charging, can anyone help me with this please, thanks.

May be dead. Li ion batteries don't like to be fully discharged. May not take a charge. Make sure you are using a high power charger and not using computer usb. If still nothing it's toast.

I have yet to completely drain the battery on my S4, but on my previous 2 Samsung phones I did many times. What you are describing is perfectly normal after a full discharge of the battery. It won't let you turn the phone on or display anything more than that grey screen until the battery has charged to around 3-5%. At least that has been my experience with Samsung phones in the past.
