Samsung Galaxy S4 Wifi Constantly Downloading

Re: Samsung Galaxy Wifi Constantly Downloading

Try downloading "My Data Manager" from the play store - I've been using it for a while now and it sheds a lot of light onto what apps are misbehaving.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Wifi Constantly Downloading

Hi, all. I'm new to the forum for this exact reason. Wondering if there's anything new about this subject. My home wifi was bogged down by my s4 mysteriously sending /receiving (my wife couldn't work) so I turned off wifi on my phone. A little more than an hour later, my battery was down by 20 percent and, get this (!!!) my phone had used almost a gig of data via 4G. This is a serious concern - wifi bogged down or a LOT of data being used! That's not a choice I want to make. I'm hoping someone can help. Please!!! And thanks!!

If I were you I'd follow the suggestion in post #21, directly above yours. Use that app and/or the data management section of Settings on your phone to figure out what's using the data, then take control as needed. Also, you can stop data transfers temporarily by turning mobile data and wifi off, until you figure out what's causing the problem.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Wifi Constantly Downloading

Hi Folks,
I had simillar problem where my device will automatically re-download all my applications. I was not only chewing my battery, but my data bundles as well. This is how I resolved it.

First Step
1. Go to Settings
2. About device
3. Software Update
- Un-tick the two option for Notifications and Wi-Fi only auto update.
4. Close

Step Two
1. Open Samsung App
2. Go to Options
3. Settings
5. Untick all options that says auto update

Step Three
1. Open Play Store
2. Go to options
3. Setings
4. Untick all options that says auto update.

Then your problem is solved:-*

hi, i have the same issue that my LG G2 keeps downloading something from my office wifi. whereas in my home wifi i don't see this download activity, i am sure it is something to do in the office router/network.

User Elv02, do you have any updates? your case is very similar to my problem.

Any help would be appreciated!
