Android Central Question

I recently got a Galaxy S9 and I seem to be having problems with the Chrome app. When I search for something on Chrome and I want to to select something after I search whatever I searched, (such as selecting the images option, or going to a different website Google provides) it often fails to take me to what I select, it doesn't even acknowledges what I select. Anyone have any idea what the problem is I'm having and how can I fix it?

Welcome to Android Central! Does it seem to register your touch at all? Does anything try to load, or does it just seem like you didn't even tap the screen at all?

Also, just to be sure -- you are talking about searching in the Chrome app (i.e., opening Chrome and going to Google), and not using the Google search app itself, right?

Assuming as B. Diddy asked you are in the Chrome app and searching through Google, when a selection is made you should notice a faint line that starts on the left and runs under the address bar. This is a progress bar of sorts. If you have a weak or slow connection this bar may start and stop showing that it is trying to connect. Have you waited to see if you eventually get an error for connection? I don't know why it would be there are a couple of other possibilities one of which I think would give you some type of notice and both of which I would think are rare. First it could be opening another tab. To figure this out simply pull down on the screen and in the upper right corner there is a boxed in number. If you just opened the browser this number will likely be 1. If the number is higher than 1 to see the other tabs touch the box and similar to your multitasking screen the other tabs will appear. I say this is rare because mobile Chrome usually defaults to open new tabs in the current tab but the web page you are dealing with may opt for a new tab. The last rare thing I can think of is that the page is creating a pop-up. I think by default Chrome blocks pop-ups and would give you a warning that a pop-up tried to load. Again however if a pop-up loaded, without warning, the procedure would be the same since mobile Chrome cannot float a page, pulling down on the screen would reveal a boxed in number and touching the number would reveal the pop-up as its own page.

Thank you for the reply all the help and suggestions you provided, Vldjunky. Yes, I am using the Chrome app. So, the line does not appear at all when I select something. I have waited and no error notifications have appeared. It is not trying to open my selection in a new tab. There have been no pop-ups at all. I wouldn't understand why pop-ups would appear when I would select images, shopping, or whatever tabs are available. But really, when I tap on something I am attempting to select like images, or a website provided, it never responds, it doesn't even detect my finger making contact with the screen when I'm in Chrome. This has never happened on any other apps I have on my phone. If you have any other suggestions, I really would appreciate it, I appreciate everything you've done.
