Verizon and at&t don't support rcs through the Samsung message app. You have to use google message. Both of our S20+ were bought at Verizon so I am guessing they aren't unlocked.
On Att carrier firmware it did on my note 9 , on unlocked it didn't, they recently remove it ?Verizon and at&t don't support rcs through the Samsung message app. You have to use google message.
Correct....and it doesn't work on Verizon. Google messages does. You have the unlocked version on verizon both phones correct?
Another thing verizon messed up on samsung phones ...smhCorrect....and it doesn't work on Verizon. Google messages does.
While I agree that Verizon is the culprit in this instance... RCS doesn't give me much that I don't already have. RCS is splintered at best. If RCS doesn't work across the board on all Android devices, messaging apps and carriers it's pretty useless. Ironically it's Androids flexibility that kills RCS.Another thing verizon messed up on samsung phones ...smh
Agreed, then comes Google rcs messages , let's see how it works out going forward. While I agree that Verizon is the culprit in this instance... RCS doesn't give me much that I don't already have. Eventually it's going come to unlocked version, we are very close , don't know if Google will do this or Samsung but yeah carrier version is the better option if you want everything carrier has to offer but I like unlocked and the carriers I use with unlocked have no issues, I don't use Wi-Fi calling .So Samsung Messaging will never work with RCS when Verizon phones? I was using Google messages and I had a friend on T-Mobile and it would work for both of us she just got an s 20 a while back. But I have an S10 plus unlocked on Verizon I don't have it under Samsung messages.
But I'm getting the S21 plus when it comes out and I think I'm going to get the Verizon one and not do unlocked this time from Samsung or Best Buy depending on who has the best deal. Will Verizon eventually have it with Samsung texting app?

Yeah I had link that from xda site : https://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=1013418
Clear data and force stop those app see if everything worksOne thing I don't get. With samsung and Google messaging, I can't receive attachments when on wif., It gets stuck on downloading. I switch wifi off, and the attachment shows up. Am I missing a setting?

It works for Tmobile, Att ,Verizon not at the moment.
Tmobile yes , Verizon no , Att it gets chat read in advance messages but doesn't work when typing with another for rcs.Out of curiosity, are you saying that works with T-Mobile and ATT but not Verizon?

As I recall, back when Verizon first enabled RCS via Samsung messaging app, it was only going to work between Samsung Galaxy S9 devices. Either way you slice it, RCS capabilities will only be available to a small crowd until all carriers agree to a universal platform. Verizon has had its own RCS type messaging for some time now through Message+ but again, that's only for users of this specific app.
