Samsung Note 4 turns itself off and fails to restart until plugged in

When I'm using my phone (not on any specific app) it will turn itself off and won't turn on until I plug it into charge. It's occurring more and more lately and I need to fix this as soon as possible.

It may need a new battery, but there are other possibilities, such as a bad battery connection or a faulty power switch.
