Samsung ripped Note 20 buyers off in 2020...

Show them by not buying.
I skipped this one. First time I skipped a Note since the 6.
If you buy one, you are not ripped off, you are voting yes.

Honest to God question. If you didn't buy it, why are you posting complaints about it?

I feel Samsung ripped us off this year with all the cost cutting and downgrades.

Let's see what they removed or downgraded. I'm referencing the Note 20 Ultra.

-Major downgrade from 256gb to 128gb
-Big downgrade in charging speed from 45w to 25w
-Big downgrade in the front camera from 40mp to 10mp
-Big downgrade in extra memory when you buy the extra storage. 12gb instead of 16gb that you got with the Note 10 and S20 Ultra
-Removal of the factory installed screen protecter

Not so important but other cost cuts
-no AKG headphones
-No S pen tip removal tool
-No S pen tip replacements

Don't get me wrong, the Note 20 Ultra is the best phone in the world but with so several downgrades & cost cuts along with the biggest price increase in Note history, I feel we were all sheep this year like our iPhone friends. Samsung is testing the limits in how much they can charge us along with cost cuts. This reminds me of 2015 with the Note 5 when so many features were removed. That was the only Note since the Note II I didn't own.

I'm sure a lot of this has to do with Qualcomm forcing Samsung to buy 2 chips because of the 5G which really doesn't make sense since the mid-level chips have modem and CPU on 1 chip. As one of the biggest phone manufacturers in the world Samsung shouldn't have let Qualcomm do this.

I feel like Samsung ripped us off in 2020. We're sheep this year but I'm optimistic that 2021 will be much better with a 5nm SOC Snapdragon

Note to Samsung. Keep your free accessories and put that money into a phone with specs to the max.

Only thing you can do about it is not purchase one. Every month when. A new phone is released manufacturers leave out, shorten, give less etc. Apple even does it with their chargers. I am so use to it I just go with the flow of I want the device.

The point I'm making is you're getting less for more money. iPhone sheep say ok to that. We're sheep this year. Very very rarely does technology regress when time passes. The Note regressed in some areas wether you use a feature or not.
Don't be a sheep. Don't buy the phone and if you did already, send it back and let Samsung know that you refuse to be a sheep.

As for the rest of us sheeps...

They didn't rip anyone off. That only happens if they don't supply what they said they would.

FFS. Give me strength.

Don't like the specs, buy some other device.

Although I did get a good screen protector and akg headphones in the box - all white along with the charger as a nice touch - I would swap you for your SD865+. But, shocker, I knew this before buying.

And as always - what else would I buy as a daily? What comes close?

I don't feel ripped off and I even have the Exynos version (oh the horror)
Maybe I have turned mega Samsheep....

Can you list the features Apple cut that make your argument here that compares to the list you created? And I’m not talking about the headphones since you don’t care about it here too... I’m talking hardware on phone.

Yes they removed the headphone jack. If you really care about it I’ll give you that one point. I always kept the headsets in box and went to Bluetooth no issues.

But looking at their flagship, has Apple ever went down in ram or storage in the next year to keep their price point? Downgrade cameras? Even the charger?

I don’t think so. If anything they add and look at their prices... barely a raised year over year over year. While we as Samsung owners just take the price hikes and accept their reasoning it’s because adding 5G is costly when we see competitors that still sell high spec phones for less than 1k or we take the price hike while they take away hardware specs.

I wonder who the sheep really are?

But we do know what we are getting before buying so if you do t like it don’t buy. Me I know what I bought so.... baaa baaa baaa. :)

iPhone users justify getting less by saying they don't need features that were cut.

Last year the Note 10+ was $1,100 for 256gb.

This year the Note 20 with more than 128gb is $1,450. We all got ripped. Don't be a sheep. I admit it. But dont be like an iPhone buyer and say ok, yes Apple. how much? Ok.

Use the iphone users mindset

WE DON’T NEED IT ANYWAY!

And in this topic it holds the same. 12GB of ram vs16? Again 3.1 UFS is why samsung say this much ram isn’t needed. Earbuds which nobody uses?

I’m sorry but the issues that were mentioned are minor issues.

Don't forget the IR Blaster! Flossy still can't get over it. Samsung was telling their users, "You don't need it" way before Apple.

Come on... give me more!

Don't make me take off the gloves and say... REMOVEABLE BATTERY!

Edit: I have to say sorry for last comment... I know... low blow. :(

You can run the 45w charger with this phone. You need to buy it then turn on the super fast charging in settings.

But the hardware on the phone will only charge at 25W right? So yeah, you can plug your cable to a 60W charger... but 25W is the max. Right? I'm really asking because I thought that was the case.

No, it works with 45w. Been tested by others.

Buyers remorse maybe !

I knew what I was purchasing.

I knew the Samsung Note 20 Ultra is an incremental upgrade to my Samsung Note10 + 5G.

And the 45w charging brick wasn't included with any other Samsung phone it was an extra purchase item so that isn't relevant either.

So it actually charges at 45W? Cool. Good to know cause I do have Ankar 60 watts.

Honestly, I never used fast charge at all the past 3 years. I'm under the belief fast charge creates more heat = faster wear. But ever since I upgraded and an trading this in... Ive been using fast charge :) and guess comes in handy whike traveling all week.

Honestly are you really gonna use 512GB of space if you have a MicroSD? My Note10+ had 256GB and hardly used any of it. Most of my stuff was on my SD Card. So the 128GB was not a deal breaker to me.

I completely agree with your argument. Really I do. I have the 64gb Note 8 and 256GB micro sd and never felt lacked. Heck with the N20U you can put in a 1TB card and have more storage.

But.... Your answer would seem like a sheep answer if we were taking about an iPhone ;)

I forgot, the regular Note 20 have micro SD?

If you shoot a lot of video and take lots of pics 128gb can run out quick through, they should have included a free 128gb or 256gb SD card for those customers
