Hey, I just got a new Samsung s6 and the battery drain is insane. From 100% to 96% in like 5 minutes AND POWER SAVING MODE WAS ON. How can I fix this? It is a new phone running marshmallow 6.0 and the only statistics on the battery section in settings is "Display" and "App Optimization"

Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor like GSam Battery Monitor to get some of that info.

What apps do you have installed? Facebook for example is known for reaching out to the Internet frequently in the background and burning a lot of battery power.

It'd help to use it all the way down to a battery level of 20-30% (not down by 20-30%), so that we have a good picture of the battery usage over almost a full charge.

It'd also be helpful if you tap the Screen listing there, which should show you what your total screen-on time is. The Screen uses the most battery by far, if it's in use, so if the screen has been on for about 2 hours or so in that screenshot, you'd be on track for pretty good battery life.

I also notice that you only have a couple of bars on the cell signal indicator. If it's always like that, it would be helpful to see a Cell Signal Strength graph (again, you'd probably have to install GSam Battery Monitor or something similar to get that info). If your signal is always pretty poor, that can lead to a lot of drain.
