Samsung s6 completely died

Thank you for posting how to do the soft reset! Mine died unexpectedly and thankfully the reset you posted (holding the Power and Volume lower button) worked!

I had mine temporarily do this twice. It had been in standby while I was on the phone and once I got off the call the screen went to black and was unresponsive. I kept trying to push all the buttons for it to work but it didn't respond. Even tried hard resetting it and it still didn't turn off. Finally it recognised that I was pressing buttons and I managed to reset it. Thankfully this has only happened twice since getting the phone in may

My literally "died" this morning while talking with someone on speaker! I was planning to go to AT&T and see what happened. I'm glad I search to see if anyone else had this issue and ran across your advice! IT WORKED!!! I pressed the power and volume buttons at the same time for about 10-12 seconds and it restarted!!!! Thank you sooo much!!!!

Mine has died twice now. If you turn it on its side, power button facing up, press and hold hard for up to a minute. It will turn back on. The first time it happened I put it on the charger. Only the blue notification light worked. Nothing else. The second time my daughter was on the phone with me. She hung up. Then, nothing. Not even the slowly flashing notification light. Follow my steps above, it will work. Btw.... tell samsung I want an SD card slot and a removable battery. Clouds are hackable and I want an easier way to reset the dang things. I expect better for $600 dollars when it'll be 100 by next year. CROOKS! J/S

OMW i love you!!!! I was having small heart failure and thought i lost everything but that re started it. What causes that?

I'm having similar issues. The phone states it has 30%-40% battery life left, but then suddenly dies. I put it to charge and it starts at 0%. I have taken it to a Samsung repair center where they replaced the battery and did a flash reset. 3 days later, the issues started again. The volume down/power reset has done nothing to fix the issue. It took a while for me to find this issue on a web search, so I'm glad to have at least found others having the same problem. Extremely frustrating!

Had three phones do this third totally died reset didn't work turns out battery had swollen and broke the motherboard and case had to be repaired by samsung

My phone completely died without any warning during a phone call and I followed your suggestion for the soft reset, which helped me restore the phone! Thanks!

Had the same issue. my s6active just died. I just used it about an hour ago, it was sitting on my desk and i thought weird no one has called in some time, i pick up the phone and its dead. i plugged it in for 30 minutes nothing happened. it was at 55% when I last looked at the screen an hour ago.

I held down the power button and the volume down rocker for about 10-15 second and the battery icon lit up as if it were charging. then i hit the power button and it turned on with 76% battery power. Weird im on hold with Samsung to complain about this issue. unacceptable.

MY phone got down to 20% battery, so when my screen didn't respond later, I assumed the battery died. Upon plugging it in, there was no response. I soon realized it wasn't the chargers either. I was thinking about maybe just popping out the battery briefly, but then realized I might end up just further damaging my phone. (Samsung just had to make the design more complicated) A little bit of panic was starting to settle in once I came upon this suggestion. THANK YOU! I'm noticing no issues now with my phone's performance, so unfortunately I have no idea why it did that to begin with and nothing to contribute as far as help full feedback. 😕

I experienced the exact same thing and received a replacement phone. Now 6 months into the replacement and I woke up this morning to the exact same thing happening. I am so concerned that I loose my photo's and videos again. It sucks big time and it's not fair.

Excellent suggestion. Tried your tip and it worked like a champ. Thanks! No trip to Verizon for me today
