Android Central Question

Hi all,

I have e Samsung Galaxy S8 and since a few days the network connection is lost on this device and I see an "disables" icon on the top of the screen. Wifi and Bluetooth works, it is only the cellular network that has issues.
Already checked with the operator and the SIM is fine, it works on an other phone. Also tried a different SIM card. I also tried to do a factory reset, no luck. Airplane mode on-off, all these things have been tested. ... . I didn't found a similar problem on the internet.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can test.

Best regards,
Sam Berckmans

Hi. I have the same problem. Did you manage to get it fixed?

Hey, so if you're still having this problem, check to see if you have wi-fi calling enabled. If so, turn it off, turn off your phone's wi-fi, and restart your phone. My network came back after doing that, I was minutes away from doing a factory reset, so hope that this tip can help you

*Edit: Forgot to note, It's under Settings: Connections: Wi-Fi Calling

Welcome to Android Central! So you've done every single thing suggested in this thread, including contacting your carrier?

It's always a little confusing if you post in a 2 year old thread and say you're having the same problem -- there are a lot of details missing, and we can't necessarily assume that you have the exact same problem. Can you tell us more? First of all, I assume you also have an S8. Are you seeing no cell signal bars in the status bar? You say you tried a different SIM -- is this SIM from the same carrier, and is the card brand new? Did the network work before, and then suddenly stopped, or did the phone never work with the SIM card? Does your current SIM card work on another phone?

Contacting the carrier is one of the things mentioned earlier in the thread, and since you say you ain't contacting the carrier, then clearly you haven't done everything mentioned here. I would still recommend contacting their customer support and see what they have to say.

Yes the network is working before and this "no network connection" issue started last week Saturday 22nd of Feb 2020 and and I tried to insert the sim in another phone and it work perfectly, I tried different network on my Samsung s8 and having this same issue of no network connection

Is it a carrier device the s8 meaning locked to one Carrier? Or unlocked version?

Take out the SIM card and use a can of compressed air to blow out the SIM slot. It may be that the SIM reader itself is malfunctioning.

Agree with b. Diddy could be the Sim card reader no good but that's why I'm curious if it populate a APN
