Samsung trade in

My pristine S8+ got there yesterday and I'm glad to see everyone posting good results on their trade ins here. The Samsung forums have some very mad people on there. Apparently there are some cases of pristine phones being rejected for cracked screens etc. when they weren't shipped to them that way. Much like some of the issues in the past. I almost didn't send mine until I read these threads, now I'm nervous again after reading the new posts on the Samsung forums. lol!

I would be shocked if someone packed there phone in the box it came in then shipped back in the box the S10 came in with packing material if screen somehow cracked...maybe I am wrong.

I was so nervous about doing the trade in through Samsung after reading all the negative reviews saying it was a scam. It was my first time going through Samsung. But I'm glad I did. I got my email today stating they accepted my phone. My return was delivered to them on the 21st. Now I'm just waiting for my buds.

Well I hope my husband gets an email that his was approved. His got there in Friday to Texas I believe. His had a slight scratch on the camera on the back but it didn't affect it working. But yes I read a lot of horror stories 2 Slickdeals had a big thread of people complaining. I just really hope his goes through.

Your timeline sounds right and consistent to what has been shared. It's been a week and 2 days so I'm expecting to hear from them any day now.

I think it is because there is no proof you shipped it in drop box. You could just say you did and they lost it. If you give to live person and they scan it, they know you shipped. It protects you as well. I would contact then and ask before shipping.

See if they can have a delivery person come to your house and pick it up. I know they do that for people who don't have a place by them. Or they say drop it off at this local store which is a Fed EX 3rd party store. Like how Staples have UPS.

I'm glad you guys resurrected this thread.

My girlfriend and I both sent our trade in phones out the same day and Samsung received them both on the same day which was March 20th.

On the morning of March 26th, we got an email saying that her trade in was successful. To this minute, I still haven't heard a peep.

What's odd is my phone was in much better shape than hers, so I'm not sure what the holdup is. For the record, she traded in a Note 8 and I traded in a Pixel 2 XL.

Does this sound normal? Has anyone received an email about a successful trade in lately in general? Maybe they do it in batches?

OK, so I'm not alone lol. It's just bizarre how quickly my girlfriend got hers approved (6 days) and mine got there the same day.

So now my girlfriend and I are both set and done. Hopefully you guys get your emails soon!

So I put mine in a Drop Box, and it took nearly a week for any tracking info to show up. On 3/14 I was finally able to see tracking info. On 3/21 it showed as delivered, and on 3/28 I finally got the email that my trade in was successful. I traded in an S9+ that was in nearly pristine condition, and it sounds like others have seen roughly a week between arrival and a success notification from Samsung.

Anyway, that was my experience...

That's one of the best emails you can get, then you know you're done with Samsung on this, as we know it can go south fast. I haven't heard any horror stories about Samsung on this trade in.

I was going to say that I wish I had your luck but then I had it! Finally got that email 30 minutes ago!

To help anyone waiting, they received it March 25 in the later afternoon, and they accepted it April 4, so a week and 3 days.
