Samsung trade in

Mine got there on March 26th so hopefully I find out in a day or so too. lol! There were a few horror stories on trade ins I read on the Samsung forums, now those posts are gone. Hopefully it was resolved but there was one that was pretty bad but no update on how it worked out for them. I'd really like an update on my buds too, so far the only thing I got was a 30 day delay on them e-mail while people are posting they got them after placing their claim weeks after I did, oh well keep on with the waiting game I suppose. :)

Finally

You too! Yay congrats!

Just logged into my husbands gmail and he had an email that his trade in was successful. I am so glad after all the horror stories I read.

Samsung received mine on March 26 and I got the notice of a successful trade-in today. So 9 calendar days for me.

Funny about all horror stories and I may be wrong but I don't recall anyone on here being rejected?? Maybe more lenient this year.

There are a whole lot of trade in issues on the Samsung forum. Several are from saying the phone wasn't reset and a few saying the screen was cracked or some damage. By far most of them I saw posted today were told their phones weren't reset, when they did a factory reset. I did see one that got a phone back they sent in a s9+ and got back a LG phone, that wasn't his phone.

Yeah, I really rolled the dice doing the Samsung trade in this time around. I got lucky and everything went thru, I don't know if I'll do it again though.

I didn't do a trade in but I notice when looking at the process they ask about cracks but not scratches. Do you know if they take off for that?

I've seen people report that scratches didn't effect the trade in, but you don't know for sure.

I'm curious because I might want to upgrade my daughter's iPhone X to another iPhone and it has a slight scratch on the back. If she doesn't trade it they will replace it for 100 bucks with an Applecare claim but not worth spending it just to trade in. Apple only asks about cracks in the trade in process.

Sorry for taking this slightly off topic....I probably should check on Imore

My girlfriends Note 8 that I traded in had scratches on the screen including a fairly deep one. They approved the trade in. Not sure if scratches are acceptable or if the particular person checking her phone didn't care.

I got my e-mail this morning that my trade in was successful, that's a relief..... They got mine on the 26th so about a 10 day wait for me. Now the waiting game for my buds. lol!

Well a lot of noobs out there as well, I had a friend send in his phone on a previous phone and thought reset was power cycle, so I bet a lot is user error or people trying to get away with stuff....

I read a bunch of horror stories on a slick deal thread. I'm just glad it's over on my husband got his 550. I got my phone from Best Buy for the 550. We love our phones. He's having a little bit of a signal trouble with his we're on Sprint he said his unlocked Note 8 had better signal in places but I think that's a Sprint thing and heard theirs going to be an update.

My husband's had a tiny little scratch on the back camera but apparently the camera works fine you couldn't see any difference in pictures and he got approved.

FedEx delivered Friday. Now the waiting game for confirmation of acceptable trade in.

I just saw this on GSMArena, so I thought I'd pass it along. I also just spoke with a Samsung CSR to confirm. You can now trade in any functioning smartphone to Samsung for a *flat* $200 off your purchase of any S10 phone, provided your phone still turns on (get to the home screen and function as normal); it's completely free of cracks; and you can factory reset it, removing all personal data and disabling software locks.

You'll get the discount off of your order and have 15 days to send in your trade in. If it's approved, you'll get an email to confirm.

I was curious to know if I'd be able to send in this pristine condition Nexus 6P that I'm using, and apparently I can. Now, I don't know what happens if your device isn't approved, and whether you'd have to pay the balance anyway, but it's something to consider. Since I'm in NY, a state sales tax of $71 still applies, so the final total for a base model Flamingo Pink S10+ comes to $871. Not *too* bad.

*Edit: I also read on GSMArena that Samsung's profits are still down about 14% compared to last year, so this has to be a way for them to try and recoup some of that, along with any other deals they think up until it's Note time.

Yes that's the one of the new trade in offers (any iOS or Android smartphone for $200) currently this month. They keep changing often with different offers. You can find more info on offers on the shop Samsung app or their website.

They have bunch of other offers as well for unlocked model higher storage models like free Chromebook, Galaxy tablet or wireless charger etc depending on which model 256, 512 gb or 1 TB. All these offers change every month and you can go the shop Samsung and play around different combinations to see for yourself. Same way carrier versions will have different offers coming and going.
