Samsung Trade In

Wait, wait, back up!

Did washing the device reduce/remove the burn in?

No, it was a separate potential issue unrelated to the burn in I was worried could cause my trade in not to go through. I know they typically check for any type of water damage when you do a trade in. I was concerned there could be signs of my phone having been wet several times, even though it still worked just fine.

I was mostly worried about the burn in though. I had left YouTube on while I was driving a lot and on a white or light back ground you could see the layout YouTube had. Even to the point you could clearly see the thumbs up, and downs for videos.....lol

I just wanted to let you all know I got an email from Samsung that my trade in was successful. My phone had extreme burn in, and I use to wash it off in the sink pretty often, so I was also worried they might say there was water damage. So, if you have burn in, on your trade in device and you haven't heard back, you should be good as far as that goes.

Yeah, Same thing happened to me when I traded in my Note 8 for the Note 9. It had burn-in and I was able to get max trade-in value.

I'm a bit worried concerning my trade-in. I've been keeping track of the delivery, and Fedex has entered this in the tracking travel history, under "Shipment exception" it states, "Barcode label unreadable and replaced." I'm worried that somebody tampered with the package, and they now have the Note 9 that is supposed to be in Samsung's hands. I taped that box up quite well. I covered the entire box with packing tape so that thieves wouldn't bother opening it. There was no cardboard exposed. The only reason that label could be unreadable is that somebody had to be unwrapping all that tape as they had to be stealing the Note 9 that was inside the box. And, then they put a new label on it. This is worrying me.

This happened to me and others here, nothing new and no need to worry.

Ok, thank you! It's just that I've read so many horror stories about Samsung denying trade-ins due to Samsung's claims that people are sending different phones than the ones that are supposed to be sent in for the trade-in.

There are plenty of reasons to worry about the "phone trade in" deal - this is not one of them. It has happened to me more than once, not sure why. Seems the phones get to TX and then the barcode becomes unreadable. Nobody could ever say life in the "preorder and return phone for credit" world is dull.

My trade-in shipment was also securely labeled yet got the "label unreadable and replaced" exception twice, on different days and locations. Moreover, the status since early Saturday morning has been "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" (it's now Monday and I shipped a week ago). But I've got photos and the shipping receipt, so I'm not worried.

I don't think I recall one issue of a trade in not getting where it was supposed to get. Several issues of it taking longer than planned though.

My phone is set to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully that we accept your trade in email will be received by the end of this week

The expected delivery is scheduled for today. I've been reading on here that a lot of your trade ins were successful, and that it didn't take Samsung too long to make their evaluations. I have my fingers crossed that mine is too.

I was worried too when I saw that the label was replaced. I kept tracking it and saw that it was still moving from FedEx station to station to destination site. All went well. Hope this provides some reassurance.

Trade-in successful. Wooop wooop. This phone had some scratches too. Just light ones on the back.

Yay, it was delivered this afternoon. Now, I just have to wait for their decision.

This is off topic, but a vertical white line has appeared on the left side of my Note 10+, and I can't get rid of it. Is this happening to any of you? I am going to wait until the trade-in process is completed before I contact Samsung about the white line.

Got the email stating they received the phone. Just waiting for them to say everything is good with the trade in.

I wouldn't wait to contact them

Sorry to hear the bad stories on their trade in. It got me nervous for my own trade in.

For some reason I watched the Samsung video in how to process the trade in and it said to remove the accounts. Like most people I didn't think it was necessary, but I went ahead and did it anyway. I'm glad I did.

I got my confirmation the other day that they accepted my trade in. Good luck everyone.
