Scratches. Is there an alternative to Gorilla Glass?

No. I'm not crying that I noticed a few light scratches on my S8+ as I said it's worth using it naked and certainly better than dropping it.

I just never bought into Gorilla Glass, which is why I've always put screen protectors on my phones.

Even after I read how easy it easily scratches I went with it.

The question, isn't there another company that SAMSUNG, LG, etc. can go with? I guess Sapphire is too expensive? I don't even if Apple is still working with it for their next launch.

I kinda doubt they'd change if for ya, but you could ask I just use a protector.

I think gorilla glass is now more about not breaking than it is about being scratch proof

I agree. In order to make it tougher it has to be softer. Always trade offs.

I thought HTC offered the U Ultra with Sapphire Glass. Honestly it'll still scratch because I've seen scratched up Apple Watches before.

I liked the old Gorilla Glass. Anyone remember the S4, S5, Note 3? Those were definitely harder to scratch! I wouldn't mind using those phones without screen protectors.

What you're seeing aren't scratches on the glass, they're scratches on the coating in top of the glass. It still takes a lot to scratch the glass under the coating.

Only the stainless steel and above have sapphire screens on the Apple watch. If one has an aluminum body it has a variant of gorilla Glass.

They also cracked much easier.
