Scratches, scratches, and more scratches!

From the test by jerryrigeverything. The display is the same as any other phone. But the back glass scratches easily. And the metal scratches as easily as any other metal. I don't think there was anything else to note about it though.
Indeed. Luckily it's very few marks and none on the screen. I have a Tempered Glass Screen Protector on it and an Incipio DualPro case now. Looks so nice!

If it's the same Gorilla Glass 4 as the screen glass -which Google says it is - it shouldn't scratch any more easily.

Smartphone oems replace plastic with glass and metal and what do people do? Get a plastic case. :D

Lol yup! My wife and I are having twins in March. A case is an absolute must for the chaos that is occurring in our home and is going to occur in the future lol

It's a phone. It's not jewellery. If you use it, it will get scratched. Who cares. Unless it's on the screen...it's a pointless complaint. You will always be upset with an aluminum device. Better to get a Samsung.
Lol the glass scratches super easy...

I would love to share my experiences of using it caseless since I got it 4 days ago, but I'm not going to risk jinxing anything until a temporary case arrives in the mail tomorrow.

Not a bad idea :D. I am using a Spigen Rugged Armor on mine.

The only scratch it has is on the top right corner and was probably from my dad when he came to drop off the phone. Otherwise I've dropped it down a few stairs and it doesn't have a single scratch other than the original one.

I keep reading more n more problems with the Google phones and for the price...that's a shame. Would the Dtek60 be any better? It sure is a lot cheaper to buy.

People in 2016 still don't have a case already on its way from Amazon the minute they know they're buying a new phone? You silly :p

Well said. I am the kind of person who practically armor plates my phone as soon as I get it. But if I were to use it naked, I would expect it to get small scratches, nicks, etc. because we are human. I'm VERY anal when it comes to the condition of my phone, and can understand the OP's concern. But if you don't use a screen protector/case from day one, expect life to take a toll.

I know right?! Lol

It's a fair point but at the same time, you can hope to like a phone but not be sure if you really like it. If I bought a case for every phone I tried this year, I would have less money right now. I have wanted to like many phones, but then they were flawed so nope.

I don't buy accessories unless I feel like I would be keeping it. Did that mistake once this year, and thankfully, I was able to sell the accessories with the phone just fine.

Everyone does things their own way. I spend months pouring over info, reviews, personal testing etc before I buy a new device and actually kept all my choices the last dozen or so devices so I normally feel safe ordering an accessory once I've made a decision on the device. Also I always buy my cases from Amazon where you can get all the popular ones for like $20 so not really much harm done if a phone didn't work out for me
