Screen not accepting taps, swipes anything! So I flashed using a stock ROM --No Joy.

Hello,

My wife's Core Prime refused to allow any input on the home screen, as if it was locked.

So in a last ditch effort, I flashed the ROM using a stock ROM for Metro PCS. Still no luck. Of course on boot up it wanted a language choice.. but since we still can't get the thing to respond to any input, its now in German LOL.

I thought sure that flashing it using Odin and a stock ROM might fix it but it didn't.
I know the phone is old but it's one she can handle w/o too much trouble.

Any thoughts on how to get this blighter to work again, or should we toss it out??

Sounds like a defective screen digitizer, which is the hardware that registers touches. That would require a repair shop to diagnose and fix, but may cost more than it's worth and be better to just replace the phone.

Yes as a matter of fact I just installed a tempered glass one on the phone right before the nonsense started. I never made the connection between that and the problm. It had a similar device on the screen for years with no problem, But I will remove it and see what it does <,scratching head>

Are some of the glass ones too thick to register screen taps?

NB: Screen saver removed and sorry to say that it made no difference, you can tap 'til you're blue but the screen doesn’t respond to taps. the screen ISN'T all black, there is info there but I can't access it <sigh>

Yeah some cause touch issues, let me know how you make out.
