Screen protector for s10+?

wow you're going to buy a 1k phone and not protect it from the elements... it's called an investment in your device. at the bare minimum I always get liquid glass or a film protector. since Samsung has already included one with my device I think I'm going to see how well the film holds up and go from there. I guess I just don't get how you can spend the money for a device and not protect it.

Okay wut? I understand people wanting a screen protecter and a case, I ordered a case but doubt I will use it. I don't see buying a phone as an investment, think you would be stupid to think so. Buy your phone as a tool, to use or protect as you see fit.

I'm still going to just use what's on the phone for now, If one wasn't on their I would just go to the Zagg Kiosk at the mall and get the Invisishield since they put them on

If you think about it, the fact that we ordered $1,000+ phones is precisely why the $45 is not affordable. :-$

Like I said, I do get the concerns of the Whitestone fans, and at some point I may get a Whitestone Dome myself. Personally I can easily afford a $45 screen protector. The question is: is it justified by the perceived risk to my screen? Having been a smartphone user for almost a decade now I've dropped my phone a couple times. I've never had any blunt force to my screen though. That would require a special kind of drop onto a surface with protruding objects (e.g. rocky terrain outdoors). If you work outdoors I can see Whitestone Dome being a good investment. But I'm at home or in an office all day, the only time I go outside is for a jog and I've got a Galaxy Watch for that. If that's your lifestyle, I guess I'm just not seeing the case for Whitestone Dome.

But hey, if you like it that's awesome and I'd love to hear how it works with your S10+ once we all get our phones!

Well once you feel the plastic one you may change. The cut out around the camera felt sharp and rough if I was swiping down for notifications. Maybe shouldn't swipe there but if any sweat on finger, that rough edge scraps it off finger..lol. Whitestone is smooth over so no worry. When I peeled the one off that came with it, it felt exactly like the ones they always have on there, except they were cut perfect so could leave on there.

I'm surprised by the differences in some of your pre-installed screen protectors. I have no issues with mine at all. There is a little gap around the top left corner, but no sharp edges any where.

This is not a film. It is either plastic or glass. Either way, it works. I'll use this as long as possible and then switch to Whitestone when necessary.

Not sure if this one is any better than the pre-installed one but may be a cheaper alternative to the Whitestone.

But this looks like you can introduce bubbles under the "film". I agree with you, it doesn't look any better than the pre-installed protector, which after watching this video, I'm surprised that the pre-installed one is not a plastic or glass. The screen feels really good from the factory.

The pre installed screen protectors seems just fine on mine. You don't feel it on the edges. By the camera hole sure but hat's not an issue for me. I ordered some without realizing that they had this already. If you get any protectors you have to make me it has the holes for the selfie camera and the fingerprint scanner sensitivity. I haven't looked to see any that have these features yet.

Whitestone has cut out for selfie camera as well.

I am on the fence as well. My FPS has been working great and I don't want to mess with it but I do need a glass screen protector on this phone. It is my first edge phone and I don't trust how the screen sits higher than the case, usually on flat screens there is a lip around the case which helps with drops but I think this phone will crack if it falls on it's face.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Thats why I liked the Incipio DualPro because the lip of the case goes slightly higher than the screen. My brother kept that case and I stayed with the caseology parallax which is at even height with the screen. A lot of the spigen case lip on the sides fall below the screen so the only protection you get are from the top and bottom of the screen AANNDD the lips (riseivity?! Flossy Carter word, lol) are small. Buyer beware!

Oh I already know. I have had the Spigen rugged armor for the past few phones of mine and I love it. One the S10 with the edge however it does not have same same lip so I will have to find something else.

Well there goes that. Had my phone since Friday and I noticed a scratch. One larger and a few tiny marks. I'll have to find a good protector. I may call Verizon because this is crazy.
Edit: And no....I did not take off the preinstalled protector.

Did you have the preinstalled screen protector and if so, did the scratch go through to the screen?? If so, that must of been A LOT of pressure or the preinstalled screen protector isn't too reliable because of its 'thinness'.

Yeah the protector on the phone should be good enough for scratches so he must have taken it off. I

Whitestone Dome is pricey but seems like a great option. Don't forget to enable screen sensitivity and register your fingerprints again. My GS9+ did just fine without a screen protector. I am thinking of removing the OEM one as it's bubbling around the corners and edges.

The pre-installed screen protector seems to scratch pretty easily. I haven't been rough with my phone at all and already have a couple of noticeable scratches in the screen protector. I'm fairly certain the glass underneath is not affected -- it sure-as-@#$ better be!

In the past, I went from being a big believer in screen protectors like Ghost Armor and Zagg, to the other end of the spectrum with a naked screen when Gorilla Glass was at it's peak scratch resistance. I put my S5's Gorilla Glass 3 through hell and still use it to entertain my kids with games, and there's not a single mark on the screen. However, as Gorilla Glass "improved", drop resistance went up but scratch resistance went down. Shortly after buying my S8, the Gorilla Glass 5 screen started showing some scratches. Since the Gorilla Glass 6 on these new S10's is touting an even higher level of drop protection, I can only imagine the scratch resistance has suffered again since these two qualities seem to be inversely correlated.

I would love to rock a naked screen again, but I don't want to go through the disappointment I did with my S8 when the beautiful screen was no longer flawless and would never again be so. I've never tried Whitestone but that sounds like a pretty popular option. I may give that a shot.

I didn't take the preinstalled protector off. I'm hoping it hasn't gone thru. Not taking it off to check until I order one.

Dang, sorry to hear that some of you guys have had a bad experience with the pre-installed screen protector. So far my protector has not scratched. In fact I've been pestering Samsung on Twitter to tell me when they'll be making the film protector available at their authorized repair shops.
