I'd prefer not, just curious what people's thoughts are on this. I am using a case though.

Not...slim see through case (Spigen) only.

Based on all of the vids I have seen it would take a pretty significant effort to scratch this screen.

I'm using a tempered glass one. I know the screen is hard to scratch but im not taking any chances

If I was getting the Edge I would; the cases don't seem to offer that good of protection for the screen just due to how it's designed. I'm not getting one for my regular S6, the case should do just fine.

Nope like the feel of the glass as is. I have stopped using screen protectors for couple of years now and not one miss them.

I did too, but that was before they made tempered glass protectors. I'd probably give on a shot this time, but I'm getting the edge so not sure if they will be available. I do use a case, to prevent against drops, but haven't ever had a need for a screen protector.

I get real OCD about hairliine scratches. Although these screens are hard to get a deep scratch on with a sharp or solid object, sand, dirt, etc. can put hairline scratches on them very easily. I've gone Zagg tempered glass on my last several phones and will have one on my s6 as soon as my local Best Buy or AT&T store has one.

See I love the feel of the glass to, but I've read that tempered glass isn't very good and will shatter on dropping very easily.

I've used the tempered glass from Zagg on my M8 since getting the phone. The replacement policy is super easy and pretty fast. For me, the feel is just as good as the glass, and the peace of mind and warranty is well worth the price.

Do the Zaggs offer any added protection or guarantee against the screen breaking? If not then it seems like a waste of money to me.

Don't even wait a minute if you care about the screen scratches.

It's always tiniest thing that scratches the screen, and most people won't see those tiny particles at all.

Not only that, put skin on the side too if you care about those. Those are even easier to get scratched.

Since I tend to sell my devices shortly after getting a new one, I always get a screen protector. I prefer to keep my phones in mint condition so my resale value is as high as possible

I've used one on my Note 4, 6 plus, Nexus 6, Xperia Z2, and G3. Only once did I have one shatter, when I had consumed way too much scotch and slipped on some ice in my driveway (I'm certain it wasn't the alcohol. Us Texans don't handle ice well). I was glad to have the screen protector take the brunt of the fall as my phone went face down on the concrete. My screen came out completely unscathed. It probably doesn't offer much shock protection but a fine layer of protection there is not a bad idea and you can't beat the feel of the tempered glass.

Thx aggie. But that does make me wonder if you'd had a regular screen protector on it if anything at all would have happened. It might have just bounced, nothing broken.

It's glass not diamond. Protecting the front and back of the device with my Otterbox Defender that should arrive today.
