Screen protector plans?

Are most people planning on using a screen protector with this phone? Especially now that we know it's not Gorilla Glass (which seems like the usual reason people don't get a screen protector of some sort). People would want to protect this 'awesome' screen, no? (Awesome in quotes to calm nay-sayers)

And, would you want to get clear ones or anti-fingerprint ones?

Personally, I've always used a screen protector with my OG Droid, first just some clear film ones I got from Verizon, then a Zagg Invisishield (worked well, but peeled off over time - only because when I put it on, it went over the bottom bezel a little), now back to a clear one.

since coming on android, ive never used a screen protector (but i also keep my phone in a pouch in my pocket)

also, and this is speculation on my part, even though its not using gorilla glass, i would bet the glass it is going to use is going to be fairly scratch resistant regardless.

I never said it not being Gorilla Glass specifically meant it is more susceptible to damage. I'm honestly not worried about that though, as I have no plans on dropping mine or doing stuff to scratch the screen. I just prefer to have something over the screen that I can switch out when it gets damaged versus having scratches right on the screen.

Back when I first got this phone I looked everywhere for a pouch to keep it in (a friend of mine kept his G1 in one and it looked like a really good idea) but the general build quality of the D1 has kept me happy.

I'll definitely be adding a nice screen protector. I can't stand scratches on phone screens >_<

I will probably go with Zagg since i read that curved screens got problems with stiff screen protectors like those from Martin Fields.

not sure how Steinheil's are.

I planned to when I first got my Thunderbolt, but opted not to. My screen has been fine, up until a week ago, when I somehow got a small scratch on it. It's really hard to see, but now that I know it's there, I can't stop looking at it... I dunno that I'll get one for the Nexus, though, as that was probably a freak occurrence. It's not really THAT big a deal anyway, so...

^^^^^^^
This is why you use a screen protector and buy insurance on these expensive smartphones.

Nobody "plans" to damage their phones.

1) Even Gorilla glass does scratch.

2) If you do damage your phone, at least you'll have a way to recover at minimum loss, rather than being pissed at yourself for "smartphone negligence"! :)

planning to pick up a skinomi screen protector, I love how that stuff sticks and goes on like window tint. You can readjust the film while its still wet, so perfect fitment all the time

I will be putting one on as soon as I get it. I will probably just get the Verizon sold ones though, Ive only had to replace one, and that was after about a year and a half being on.

I don't really like the feel of screen protectors so I'll probably go without one, I never put anything in the same pocket as my phone so I am not too worried about scratches, my og droid is still in perfect condition with no screen protectors

OK... since no one else will say it, I will.

Screen Protector = Condom.

Sure you get protection, but there is a price.

I always use a screen protector, gorilla glass or no. I will use one for the Galaxy Nexus as well. My phones are always kept beautiful. No gorilla glass...so what.

Zaggs leave rainbow effects steinheil's do not,I've tried both.

I've never used a phone without one from ZAGG, love theirs and haven't ever had a problem with them. I don't really have a reason for one in the fact that I have an office job and don't go spelunking and play frisbee with my phones like I know how others put their phones through (My brother, for instance). I think its just the OCD part of me and the fact that these phones cost a bit more than what I usually spend during the day, so I like to baby them :)

Its not that bad but I have heard good things about Steinheil,

but I have also read that some of the ones they made for phones with curved screens doesn't fit so they cover the whole front.

It might be wrong but I want to know before i buy one.

I bought a Moeshi protector for my SGSII. Guaranteed no bubbles and is washable. I was skeptical, but it is pretty nice.
