Screen protector

I also got the Zagg Fusion Curve and love it. No way would I put that liquid on my device. I have never successfully applied my own protector without bubbles or being crooked. There is a Zagg store in most large malls (yes, there are still a few around) and they will put it on for you if you buy it there. I've bought multiple ones there and several times there was a tiny bubble under one, and they just took it off, opened another box and did it till it was perfect. Here's the link..............

That's awesome! I have the normal Pixel 7 and am loving it. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. That's really convenient about the iCloud and calendar, as those were things that worries me when I'd sometimes wonder if I'd ever switch to Apple. But I have too much invested in the Android ecosystem. Chromebook, Google Drive, Pixel 7, Fitbit. It all works. I'm happy! Glad you are too! And who knows, maybe your wife will make the switch to Android one day!

What colour Pixel 7 did you get? I got Lemongrass and love it!
I wanted white but after pondering getting one for a few weeks, I just broke down and bought obsidian. Though this UAG case is serving me well, I know I want the official Google case.

My screen protector results so far:
1 I returned my first Pixel 7 due to poor fingerprint sensor performance (under 46% success rate)
2 The second Pixel 7 achieved over 80% success rate with no screen protector
3 I fitted a JETech screen protector, which is 0.6mm thick. The success rate dropped to 58%, but I got this back up to 67% after deleting and resaving all fingerprints.
4 I ordered Aokuma screen protectors, which are advertised as 0.26mm thick on Amazon UK. These are actually 0.6mm thick, so not as described. I am returning them & looking for alternatives.

I'm still a big fan of this screen protector. The only reason I have gone through both is because UBreakiFix broke my display when the had it for servicing and they replaced my display. Otherwise it held up great and doesn't interfere with FPS. It's not glass but still.

5 I ordered the Tentoki protectors off Amazon UK. These are advertised as 0.33mm thick, but the samples sent to me measure nearer to 0.48mm thick. I'm just considering whether to try one or to return them. The protector on my phone is currently 0.6mm thick.

I 'm just considering these flexible protectors again.

However, the question comes to mind, what's the purpose of a screen protector ?
Answer: To protect against impacts & scratching. Such impacts might be a point impact on the screen. Now a rigid protector will at least distribute the load from an impact concentrated on one point and may save the phone screeen. I'm not at all sure that a flexible protector would be as good.

I've had one broken screen on an old Samsung phone & have used a rigid protector ever since.

A screen protector only serves me 1 thing and that is scratch protection. If my screen breaks which rarely happens if ever with me, then I'll just get it fixed. I really don't care.
I agree with the scratch protection. That is my more practical reason for using a screen protector since I don't usually drop my phones.

I'm on the scratch-protection bandwagon, too.
I'd prefer a glass protector, mostly because the feel is so nice, compared to a film protector
On curved screens the tolerances for BOTH protectors AND placement on the screen (in 3 dimensions: length/width/pivot angle) is VERY finnicky. The glue-UV ones can work better, I've gone that route, too, but they eventually give me touch issues as well (fingerprint is implied at this point).

If the darn OEMs (or perhaps the market) goes back to flat screens, this will all be so much simpler, AGAIN... :)

I agree with you! Curved screens are beautiful and functional but applying screen protectors and having them stick (pun intended) aren't! I don't like film protectors but sometimes they are necessary -- until they peel, anyway!

Exactly why I use the film from whitestone it uv cures and so far I have never had it peel away. It's like 17 bucks for 2 and feels like glass.

Does anyone know of a good & thin glass protector for a Pixel 7 ?

As described above, I've tried ordering protectors advertised as 0.33mm thick and when they arrive, they measure up at 0.48mm thick. I know there are tolerances, but +48% is unreasonable.
