Samsung talks about their screen quality but ships with 2220X1080 should I switch to 2960X1440 does it make a big difference.

I thought I would not notice the difference because for what they say that our eyes can't see pixels after300 dpi and that might be right I can't see the pixels at all with FHD but damn I was wrong about not noticing a difference screen sharpness is great on QHD the screen is beautiful

What I find funny is all the reviews are adamant that you won't notice and you probably shouldn't change it. But I guarantee if Samsung had shipped the display as being 2220x1080 maximum res, all the reviews would be saying how it's not as sharp or as good as competitor devices .

I think for most things you can't tell the difference. When I read stories or see text is where I see a difference, especially with a white background.

For me I'm not able to see pixels. But at QHD everything is more crisp. Images for example look for "lifelike" in presentation. And text is sharper as well.

I'm not sure if I can tell the difference or if my brain is just tricking me into thinking I do (I guess I could answer that question with a double-blind test administered by a friend). What I can tell you is that I do NOT notice the difference in battery life. I switched from FHD to QHD about half a day after getting my S8+, and I was not able to notice a difference in battery life. Obviously there is some measurable drop in battery life. But it's clearly not enough that I notice it or that it disturbs my experience with the phone in any way.

I switched the setting to QHD as well. I think the colors and text look more sharp. Battery life has been good too so I'm keeping it at QHD. One of the best features I loved about my S7 edge and notice it when I lost it and had to get a moto g as a replacement. Display does make a difference.
