SD card file management problems.

With Android's new privacy policy on KitKat, it is impossible to alter SD card files on the M8 by a third party file manager. Yes I know the trick is to root the device and install SD fix apps. But my phone is still under warranty and I don't want to root it and loose my warranty. I used to own a Samsung GS4 earlier which had inbuilt Samsung file manager, through which I easily altered SD card files. Does HTC have any such file manager hidden somewhere? Is there any other solution without rooting the device?

i realise this isnt a fix, but you know if you plug your phone into a computer via usb, you can manage your files from there?

I only suggest it because generally, I don't need to do much to my sd card files, but when I do, my computer isn't far away, so I haven't found a great need to find a proper solution yet.
