SD card unavail

I found a somewhat interesting little "quirk"..

If I boot up the phone while connected to my computer thru the USB/charge cable, the SD card is unavailable even after being unplugged. I don't remember having this issue with my DX, granted I probably never sat here at my desk with it connected trying to take pics..

Is this normal?

If I boot up the device off the cable it registers the 14.88gb, then hook it up it's unavail. Then unhook it, the 14.88gb is back avail.. Not really a big deal, but it scared the crap out of me at the time, before I did some experimenting.

Depends what mode you have on when connected to PC. Could be charge mode, windows media sync, PC connection etc...

Correct. Slide the notification bar down from the top of your screen while USB is connected similar to how you had to before to click the 'enable usb mass storage' or whatever it was on your old phone.... and now it gives you options. I, by default, leave mine set to 'Charge Mode' so it doesn't interract with the PC unless I tell it to.
