Happened 5 or 6 times now, turn my screen on and have a message that my SD card has been removed. SD card is 3 year old 32g San Disk class 10.
I only have my LG GPad 8.3 for about 2 months and absolutely love it.
Fix has been to pop it out and reinstall. All is there except apps that have info stored there are gone and all the information needs to be downloaded again.
So, do I have a corrupt card… or bigger problem?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Jay... I got my GPad just after it was released and am still loving it. I have a Sony 64 Gb card in it. Soon after I had installed Sandisk Memory Zone app, I started getting the same errors. I, too, thought I had a bad memory card. But the card worked fine in my Note II, so I un-installed Sandisk's Memory Zone app, and the problem went away. I don't know if the app was constantly trying to acess the card, or what it was doing, but no problems since then. So if you've install this app, or any other memory manager app, try either uninstalling, or disabling it to see if it helps your situation too.
I did send a message detailing the issue to Sandisk, but no reply.

Thanks Steven. I will see if I can find the problem app. Funny I also have a Note ll. I am so impressed by this LG tablet that I have considered waiting on the lg4 before I upgrade to a Note 4.
Thanks again.

Another month has gone by and I have done everything short of a factory reset. Still getting intermitent loss of the sd card. Typically it will return on its own with the only sign a message that it was lost. If it does not return on it own, a simple reboot usually will fix the error. The most extreme fix is to pop the card out and immediately replace.
Any other ideas before I do a reset?

I have been seeing the the same also with my GPad 8.3 for the last couple of months at least. I don't remember it happening earlier though. I'm using an old Transcend 64GB class 10 card, I don't have Sandisk or any other memory app installed (nor do I have a Note II). But it doesn't seem to do any harm and it returns on it's own or you can just reboot, so I've just left it alone. Resetting is such a hassle.

Has not happened since my last post. Just lost the card again. Reboot seemed to fix. Surprised more have not experienced the same problem. Still love my tablet, but wish it would update to lollipop.

I think this happens on all LG 8.3's. SD card is a completely useless appendage. Of course, in Jelly Bean, android's restriction make even a working SD card pretty lame.

I've been holding hope for months now that Lollipop might fix both then OS restrictions and the hardware issue. But it sure seems that LG is walking away from supporting this tablet in the USA.

Funny that I paid more to get the LG because I believed the company had a good rep for integrity. Would have been much better off with almost any other brand. I'll keep this in mind when looking for any new device.

This was my first break from Samsung for the same reason. None of them want us to keep our equipment more than a year. Too bad!
I still use my Droid X in the bathroom as a media player and clock.
