Seidio 3500mAh Battery for the Incredible

How many hours of use are you getting on that battery?

--
EDIT: I don't use any hacks to improve battery life or disable any features. Wi-fi, bluetooth, GPS -- it's all enabled.
--
My use would be considered light right now (per day): about 10 phone calls, about 30-40 emails, very few texts, about 8 spreadsheet updates (Documents to Go) each day, maybe 1-2 hours of web surfing, 1-2 hours of streaming radio (Radio Time), locally stored music or Pandora to a bluetooth headset -- I easily get over 24 hours on one charge.

When I add intensive games (ie: Robo Defense) or GPS Navigation to my light use, or just use the phone more at an intermediate level of usage, I get about 12-14 hours -- easily more than the typical 8 hour workday.

---

I don't need the beefier battery right now. In the coming months, I probably will though. I wish I had waited for the 3500 for $20 more.

Wow.....simply wow. The battery life on that thing is insane. Hows it feel in the hand while using the phone for a call?

Great! I like the way it feels... As I said, it gives you a little something extra to hold on to... I used to find myself always pushing the volume buttons on the phone when I held it... Not any more with the extra backing...

And as for the question regarding "pocket storage"... No problems here either...

Do you still have the 2150? Can you post pics comparing that back cover with the Seidio cover? I"m curious how much bigger it is than that one..

That's not bad at all. I have to charge my crapberry twice a day under moderate use. Hmm... I might have to look into that battery when I pick up my dinc. Thanks :)

So, I went out with my friends last night and continued using the phone heavily for different things... Flash pictures, texting, phone calls, random internet stuff, and the like... On a side note, one guy had an iPhone 4 and was bashing the Incredible, so I let him pick a website (espn.com), both of us typed it into the browser and hit GO at the same time. He had 5 bars, I had 2 and it took my phone about 5 seconds to FULLY load the page... The iPhone took about 15... WOOT! Anyhoo... Later that night, I streamed XM for another hour while playing a game and I finally crashed at 10PM... 17 hours off the charger... I had exactly 41% battery left...

I turned off the phone and put it on the charger as I know I'll be using it heavily again today to continue testing it and with all the 4th of July party pictures I'm going to want to take... If I wasn't doing all that, I wouldn't even need to charge it for the day... This thing is a beast!

You really won't notice a difference in size in pictures... The 3500 is maybe a fraction of a millimeter larger in the middle and even looking at them side by side, it's hard to see the difference.

CRKhead, thanks again for the posts and pics of the 3500. I like you like the weight of the phone and not having to charge it during the day. I have two questions for you, 1. Are we able to take our 2150 back to vzw, 2. Did you order the 3500 from Seidio. I did the step battery thing to 1750, 2100 and now waiting for Amazon to ship out my 3500. Just sold my 1750 to a happy guy on craigslist for $35.

I read your post about our fab cases everyone made for our 2150s, we can't just dremel the top out more?

1. I believe Verizon also extends it's 30 day return policy to accessories as well, but you'll have to check with them. However, I'm going to apply a term usually reserved for steroid users to your battery consumption habits... You're a "Juicer" :p , you eat these batteries up! Maybe keeping the 2150 on hand might be a good idea for you as it will fit under the 3500 case. Store your 2150 at 40% charge and if you head out one day knowing you're gonna be killing the the phone, pop the extra in your pocket.

2. I got my battery from Seidio.

3. If you modded your case for the 2150, it will only require a little bit more shaving of the edges to fit the 3500 and it will be fine. I haven't done this yet. However, it does look like Seidio is developing a case to fit the 3500 backing cover... So I may wait before bringing out my Dremel again...

This thread was a great read, thanks. I pre-ordered my 3500 from amazon before reading this and I'm really glad now. I played golf the other day with gps on the whole time and I didn't make it through 18 holes, about 15. I started at about 90% on the 1750 battery. The 3500 battery will be perfect for days like this, traveling, and long geocaching days. Most normal working days the 1750 will get me through and still be the original slim backing. I bet I will end up liking the 3500 though and keep it full time.

these are great specs to hear for a battery...have to see if its worth making the sacrifice for the size of the phone...i do like small and sleek when it comes to my technology but ill have to test and see how long the 1750 i ordered will last me

Man I just don't know. Sometimes it looks ok and sometimes it looks bad. These are better pics then other thread I saw.

this is how i feel sometimes >_<

i sprung for the 1750 but i might switch to this... but not sure...

Just over 12 hours off the charger today, Wi-Fi and GPS always on and most of the time there was no Wi-Fi connection... I still have 70% battery left... Not gonna charge it tonight...

I'd be curious to know how it stands up to heavy gps use, a known battery killer. My guess would be 10 hours since I got about 5 with the 1750.

1. I've seen this mentioned prior somewhere else, what is this case modding we are doing?

2. Why store the battery at 40% charge?

thank you

Alright, I've used the battery the last 2 days as I would normally... Mix of internet, Facebook, Twitter, picture taking, phone calls, texting, games, XM Streaming, navigation, and email... I took the phone off the charger 34 hours ago... That's THIRTY FOUR hours ago... I still have 22% charge left... This is only the end of my second charge cycle and it's supposed to reach full potential after 5 - 6 cycles...

Wi-Fi and GPS have been on the whole time, and a lot of the time it did not have a Wi-Fi connection, so the antennae was just searching... I think this will surely get the heaviest users through 1 full day with plenty to spare and most moderate to heavy users through 2 full days...

Sweet.

I may go ahead and do this. I've been stranded once or twice and had to grab the charger out of my bag at a client site. Bummer to have to get a generi dock though.

CRKhead, do you youse a car mount? If so how does it fit the new back?

I don't use a traditional car mount... I use a cup holder mount I bought YEARS ago for my click wheel iPod... It fits the Incredible perfectly and with the new back, the suction cup meant to hold an iPod in place holds the phone in place perfectly even when driving like a lunatic in NY City... I just had to shave a little off the bottom side so the USB cable fits into the port...

Amazon.com: Belkin TuneDok Cupholder for iPod (White): Electronics

CRKhead, how about another update? How's it going now with 7 days of charging? I need more good news to tide me over until amazon get's this thing in stock!

I'll go into a final thoughts post in a little bit, but I am now charging my phone overnight, then not charging again until the second night... I get 2 full days use. I charge with the phone OFF though, as the Evo's and DInc's have issues with their charging software when powered on.
