I have just updated UK unlocked m7 to sense 6 and now miracast screen mirroring does not work with my Samsung f8000 smart tv. I contacted HTC who are looking into issue. When tv is about to connect to phone both disconnect. Anybody having same issues??

Yes me too face the same issue. Both dlna and miracast connection to my Sony Bravia KDL-42W829B. Phone displays a message "unable to connect to Bravia......"

Simon, i have the same problem with my dutch m7. After the update to sense 6.0 i had no screen mirroring. This is what HTC said: we know of this issue, we don't longer support this function, you will have to buy a medialink…..

It's not only miracast. There is all kinds of problems with HTC Media Link since the KitKat update. It is simply garbage now. HTC really needs to fix that even before the miracast situation.

I hope HTC haven't taken away the functionality just to sell the media link hardware. I used this feature on a daily basis prior to sense 6

I just posted the Netflix Problems, it's the same issues you are experiencing. I have the HTC HDMI media link and ever since the android kit Kat update to 4.4.2 my Netflix won't let me play a movie! I contacted HTC and Netflix, and got the run around, Netflix said it was my Wi-Fi .....and HTC wants me to send my phone to them so they can figure out why it won't work! I can not be out of my phone for 4weeks

The point I was trying to make is that HTC Media link is worse than Miracast now since KitKat/sense 6. They haven't fixed that either. Just read the current reviews about it on the HTC accessories page.

I 'upgraded' to Sense 6 et al on my HTC One (M7) last week and have the same problem: screen-mirroring to my 2014-model Sony Bravia TV (KDL42W706B) has stopped working.

Curiously, if I play a video on the YouTube app on my HTC One, it displays a screen-mirroring icon in the top-right of the video, which does work! So screen-mirroring isn't completely busted.

If anyone finds a solution, please post it. Thanks.

Posting this partially to bump this message just in case someone has a solution :-).

YouTube's ability to screen-mirror appears to be unrelated to Miracast. My daughter's Nabi 2 tablet (which doesn't have Miracast) can also send YouTube content to my TV.

I have emailed HTC Support about this but I haven't had a response yet.

Response from HTC (UK):

"I can't see anything in the publicly available details that tells me it is no longer working but it does sound like a compatibility issue. Have you reported the issue to Sony, they may be aware of the cause. "

When I pointed out that screen-mirroring worked before the Sense 6 OTA update, and so the problem was likely introduced by this update, I got the following response:

"At this point the only make that we have had confirmed with so far is Sony which is why i suggested contacting them, we are investigating the issue here but have as of yet been unable to find a cause. It is very possible that the issue occurs with other makes but we have as of yet not been informed of any beyond Sony. If it is caused by something specifically changed with the Sense 6.0 update that isn't governed by changes in the Miracast certification system then we will certainly address it."

Make of that what you can.

thank god I'm not the only one, i thought i was going mad, even worse my phone was loosing the plot, i currently have the one HTC ONE MAX which is a variant of the M7 and it won't work with my Samsung Smart tv, I've had to revert to HDMI which is a pain. I've sent off an email to HTC and await there reply, I've also alerted the Elevate program so i expect a flood of people to be checking

Lately I reached the call center, they gave different response.

I have the same problem.I tried with my HTC one with htc sense 6 and it doesn't work, but when i tried to connect from my girlfriend's phone, also a HTC One it worked.Guess why!?She didn't updated her phone from sense 5!!

I have exactly the same issue, I just contacted HTC about this and they seem to acknowledge the fault now and are working on a fix!

This is the transcript:
Florian: Yes we are aware of that and the developer team are working on that
Florian: It is difficult for me to say when it will be fixed
Florian: I assume that with the update 4.4.3
Easybreeze: any idea when that update may be released?
Florian: it has been rolled out but it has been withdrawn to make some corrections
Florian: Thus I assume that is a matter of days
Florian: perhaps week or two

So hopefully fixed very soon :)

That's encouraging, although I wonder whether we'll have to wait for a full OTA update (could be weeks, months, or even with Android L in many months) or a PlayStore update.

Incidentally, I discovered that using the Gallery app, it is possible to display photos and movies on my Sony TV using dlna (when viewing a photo/movie, click on the laptop icon -- the one between the camera icon and the three vertical dots and select the dlna device). For photos, although you can swipe left / right to show previous/next, it doesn't display a folder's custom slide show.

Not the same as Mirracast, but occasionally useful. (But unfortunately, a large screen highlights the low resolution of the One's ultrapixel camera -- still a bugbear with me.)

I've been following this thread for a while. Since the last update totally stopped my miracast from connecting to my LG tv. At least you've got an answer from HTC rather than the run around they've been giving me I've tried contacting them via Facebook, emails (no reply), live chat and phone. The guy I spoke to on the phone just told me they were aware of the situation and if enough people complained they would escalate it with the Miracast developers.

Whoop! I emailed WiFi alliance a few weeks ago and they finally replied today. Fingers crossed things will start moving in the right direction now.
