Share Battery Life Results

That's the funny thing I'm right next to our tower haha. I had no service issues an have HD voice on with nearly 4 bars the whole time. Have nearly 76 - 80 dBm which is very good, so no clue why the OS is claiming otherwise. Wondering if HD voice is not talking to things correctly so it felt I had no service.

I started with 94% today. I can basically go 2 days on a charge if I wanted to. I don't know how some of you have 6 hours SOT. Not that the battery isn't capable, but the fact that you have 6 hours a day to be looking at your phone, unless you use it for work.

Here's mine from yesterday and I worked all day didn't use phone much. I had another good day like that too and others not as good cause of my bad signal at work. I usually charge it at work but wanted to see how long it would go. I went to bed with like 4% left.

Day 1: Battery didn't last long, was burning through 5% every 10 minutes. That had me really worried about how it would be. I was also heavy on my usage as it was new and I was setting everything up.

Day 2: Took it off the charger at 11:00am went through my day as normal, went to work at 4pm and then to the bar afterwards and was home around 2:30am. I had about 37% battery left. That was with my regular usage which is about 30 emails, checking BBM and texts every 10-15 minutes and some reading of news.

I know it's nothing specific like the screenshots posted above but it lasted a typical day for me so that was really all I needed to know.

Cheers!

My battery has been sucking...

Under 10 hours total around 2:45 SOT for both days 1 and 2...

I Have no idea how people are getting 5 hours of screen time. I've had the phone for 3 weeks and just today, I was on a bus traveling, and in 4 hours time, with 43 min screen on using chrome and Facebook app, and 8 minutes of phone use I had 44% battery left. Granted I didn't have the best cell service all the time but I avoided using the phone in bad areas or 2g spots. I have Bluetooth on connected to my Razer Nabu X and that's it. No rogue apps according to gsam. Good thing I had my 10,000 mah battery on me to give me an after lunch charge.

Any helpful hints?

I know both Chrome and FB are really bad battery hogs. No matter the device. I use the stock browser, and only use FB from the browser, not the app itself. I've not ever opened the FB app or FB Messenger, but somehow they still take up battery life. (Not much, but I don't see how apps I don't open are using battery.)

I average just over 3 hours of screen time in about a 24 hour period. My screen on time would be higher but I lose battery throughout the day as I have pretty much no cell reception when I'm in class and I have notifications for everything set to instant.

Bluetooth constantly on hurts battery a bit. I lose about 2% every 30 minutes due to Bluetooth when I stream music to my car. Facebook and Chrome are also very high battery users. My guess is that people with high screen on times are likely just text messaging or emailing a lot and tend to have lower app usage.

So it's best to use dolphin over chrome and Facebook through dolphin? I use the app all the time and I have chrome and Dolphin. But if I'm at work and have my charger than I don't care if battery drains. My signal isn't good their anyways so it loses battery more cause of that too.

I mostly use the stock HTC browser. You have to dl it from the Play store though. I tried Dolphin, but didn't give it much of a shot yet. But the FB app will kill your battery.

Here is mine from 2 days ago.
