Braved our whole 2" of snow for my hubby's cravings... LOL, he hates when I'm clicking away when we go out to eat. 20171230_154529.jpg20171230_154543.jpg

Yup an echo and a Google home behind her head....lol

I tried the Echo and ended up with the Dot(s) which work better in my small environment. I tried the GH mini and it has so far to go to be really useful to me. I do enjoy the tech though from the stand point of home automation and the convenience factor. life changer for me since I'm health challenged.

I got an Echo Dot as a Christmas gift. I was kinda disappointed because I had my eye on the Google Home mini but I've been really surprised how good it is.

I bought 6 of the 2nd generation Echo Dots as Christmas presents a year ago when they were on sale. They were universally well received. This year, I bought everyone an Echo compatible Wemo smartplug to go with last year's dot.

As I write this , I am listening to an audible book being played on my dot. I use it daily for news, weather/temperature and timers. I have used it to make purchases and my favorite function, turning on the lights. This has also been a big hit with the folks on the gift list.

I was tempted to try out a Google home mini. After reading the comments here and elsewhere I think I will wait. I am very happy with all the Echo products.

while my satisfaction has leveled out, and even reversed a bit after one of the updates, I think you'll be pleased with it . it's great for home automation overall and so many other things that I can't even number them here.
